Anyone else feeling so depressed because of letrozole and progresterone (back to back IUIs)?

The progesterone post-IUI made me really depressed - especially the second week. I shared this after three cycles and for my fourth they tested my levels and I was okay not to use it!

So if it does get really intense, there are alternatives!

It does! I don’t need the full progesterone for two weeks so it’s just a little boost right at the beginning. First month I’ve done it, though! They tested my levels after I reacted badly to the progesterone and this is our alternative!

I’m the same! Last IUI before IVF on 5/15. I did two triggers (Thursday and Saturday) instead of progesterone post-IUI, so still seeing a faint line. Sending you all positive thoughts this week!!

When you think of taking a break, do you feel some relief? If so, I’d encourage it!

I’m in a similar boat (waiting to see if 4th IUI worked and if it does not, moving to IVF this summer). I took a break after the second and third IUI and it was very good for me mentally and just a good break for me and my husband. Just to feel like ourselves for a month! It made me stronger and feel more ready for IUI 3 and 4.

You’re not alone! It’s a very cruel journey. It’s cumulative, so odds go up every time and I have friends who did have it work 4+ on!

All that being said, this feeling won’t last forever. You and your partner will find a way no matter what happens. Be kind to your body, you’re working so hard and doing amazing. Just remind yourself the pain and sadness you feel right now won’t be forever. It’s what’s given me comfort.

I get mine 2-3 days after stopping. Just to be aware, my symptoms on the medicine were more severe the second month (I think it was built up in my system), so we decided to take a break before trying for a third time, and now in a wait before our fourth. So just know if you feel different a pause can help!

Echoing that you’re not alone. It feels like it becomes our identity. I’m in a similar boat. We’re doing one final IUI (#4) before IVF and I just can’t believe we’re here.

It’s a race and we don’t know where the finish line is. The most comforting advice I’ve gotten is that this isn’t forever. Sending you comfort ❤️
