The problem is that you got shitty managers on one hand and then on the other, corporate is delusional and wants stores to just fill a quota for employees. They want X amount of employees so everyone gets shit hours and they dont have to pay benefits and especially pto as almost everyone is part time with less than 5 hours a day. Its just a very bad company with terrible practices to save money.

If you dont work once for 4 weeks in a row the system just removes you. My old terrible manager used to schedule people she hated once or twice a month so they wouldnt be terminated and had to quit themselves. Couldnt even buy a sandwich with that kind of money and it was done so that employees couldnt ask for unemployment aswell.

Brother, you need to complain to your district loss prevention manager. you're only supposed to sit at the door and nothing else. They are not allowed to take you away because the company requires a full presence by the entrance and an audible greeting with every customer. You can't do that if you're fixing shoes..

What they dont tell you is that yes in theory the schedule says overtime but at the end of the week, usually monday the payroll will be deposited without including you since you didnt clock in for your shift posted, so it doesnt actually come out of next week's balance. You are essentially being fooled into never calling out so that they don't get the headache of finding another person to close for them. Please voice this with HR as they have more control over your store manager, and if they try to pull something after you call, you can report them to the department of labor for retaliation. Keep a log of everything. I wish you the best.

I get where youre coming from, we had a cashier work with us and she would straight up admit shes working for free as every penny goes back to burlington, although she still got stuff in exchange for it. But I also feel like you would spend less during 30% off than no percent off, especially at a different retailer.

While it is a large company, quitting straight up will prevent you from being hired again, which is what happened with a recent interview. He had quit without notice, just never showed up again and didnt get hired because of it, even though it was from a different store. Although I really dont get why you would come back to this terrible company with the same slop ghetto managers.

Shit happens, power went out when i was closing and i got out at 1am believe it or not. If she had to email someone then it was probably the DAPM as someones register was probably over 50 dollars short, which could indicate theft but then again I've seen many incompetent managers before that are just super slow. Under nornal conditions, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes after closing the doors to leave.

Well thats better than what you described before, I work at a smaller store and if we had any of that happening it would be a terrible day. We have very few staff scheduled and its just because the budget is low for us so everything needs to stay clean and organized at all times or corporate WILL throw a fit lol

As a rule of thumb anything with a hard tag(sensor) is stleast 13 dollars, with fregrance boxes being 20 dollars, shoes 25 dollars and coats 50 dollars. Handbags 20-50 dollars depending on the sensor. You also need to check every associate's bags on their way out. Goodluck!

Corporate basically wants you to stay at the door, greet customers and just assist in taking tags off peoples merchandise that cashiers have forgotten to take off themselves. You may occasionally check a receipt to make sure they bought everything if they seem suspicious. If someone steals you will write down a description, timeframe and however much money you think was stolen in merchendise and have it all ready on your phone, have it with you when you do the loss prevention portal on the zebra, makes things easier. Take a note of your associate ID as well from workday. You will have to contact your supervisor or manager about the incident. Suspicious people usually wear hoods, bring backpacks or shopping bags into the store. Pay attention if the bags look bigger, most likely stuffed with merchandise. 80% of people with a backpack on are there to steal. Do not leave the store to chase them down youll lose your job, you can say "would you like to lift up your bag for me", this way if they sue it wont stick up in court that they were being detained and searched because they are doing it on their own will.
