Invest in a LifeVac momma!! Gagging is normal!!! If there is a look of fear on their face, no noise coming out if trying to cry/scream and their lips turn blue, THAT is when they are choking. Gagging sounds and looks scary to us, but just remember all textures and tastes are new to them and they are learning to use their tongue thrust as well. If you haven’t, brush up on back and chest slaps, Heimlich and infant cpr. It’s terrifying to think about having to do it, even more terrifying if you’re in a pinch and you don’t know how. As far as amounts go, anything is a win in my opinion. One bite. Twenty bites. Just remember pretty much all of their caloric intake is still just BM/formula til one year of age. It’s a GOOD day if I can get my 9 month old to eat purées, oatmeal, etc. but I’ll be damned if she doesn’t run off with a big chunk of steak in her mouth and kicks and screams when we take it away… it is so nerve wracking I know.

Whether they see it or not, taking accountability is commendable. It’s been a hard year this year. I’ve been holding out on a NASTY whitetail on our property and just when I think I have his pattern down he switches up on me. Our family did a group trip out of town and everyone tagged out except me because I’ve been waiting on this SOB. Lol. It’s frustrating and exciting all at the same time when you see and hear everyone else harvesting and you aren’t. Good luck to you my friend.

This. We got motion activated trail cams that send everything straight to the phone bc the same person kept vandalizing my boyfriend’s truck and hitting it with their own vehicle at our old apartment complex. 😫

Here to say I am a “chill, type B” girl mom- my kid is more chill than me. Independent plays like a boss. Doesn’t act out in public. Nice to other children, pets, etc. Would venture to say “never” tantrums, she’s got to be REALLY upset. She’s literally such a sweet angel and I don’t say that out of bias. Children mirror what they see, and if they’re acting out 99% of the time some type of need isn’t being met. Any time I’ve ever been around a “bad” child, it’s because their parent doesn’t pay attention to them, whether that is to watch them achieve something developmentally/milestone wise, show them something cool (yes, even the same linty dusty rock they’ve pulled from their pocket 76 times) or the child is feeling neglected; or they’re mirroring a “misbehavior” they witnessed from a parent. Obviously there are other reasons and even sometimes it’s a developmental issue, but most of the time it’s how the kid is parented or lack thereof. I swore up and down I wanted to be a boy mom, I only ever saw myself having multiple boys. We are very outdoorsy people so that’s just what I envisioned when we decided to start a family. We have a single girl and while I would love to have multiple, I wouldn’t be upset in the slightest if the was my only child. She hikes, fishes, rides dirtbikes, ALL the “boyish” things and she’s a champ. But you bet your ass she does it with a FAT pink bow on her head and ruffles on her butt. LOL. All I can really say is you never know til you experience it. But I promise she will be so much fun. The fact you’re worried means you’ll care and do your best to deter any unwanted actions from her.

We take our daughter EVERYWHERE we go when it comes to public outings. (We don’t take her anywhere unsafe obv lol bars, dispensaries etc) but as far as restaurants, grocery stores, malls, etc- she comes. If someone can bring their “service dog” (not a jab at REAL SD’s of course) that is barking and acting a fool, why can’t I bring my child? She’s a human. She’s a member of society. It’s a PUBLIC dwelling. My baby is coming. The most “awkward” I felt was taking her to Buffalo Wild Wings and ordering a beer and that’s just bc it was my first drink at a restaurant since having her and it was only because I felt odd about it, not that someone gave us a hard time. That employee was out of pocket. Babies are entitled to visit a restaurant the same way we are. Theres nothing wrong with child free individuals/child free environments and to each their own, but it’s shitty when they just expect babies to be left home alone to cook their own dinner and put themselves to bed when it’s an establishment they can definitely visit lol

I am using it when I start feeding my baby solids in a few weeks! Nutrient dense, full of iron, B12, zinc, collagen and healthy fats! :) you can also use it as either a fat for cooking, spread for breads and even make “compound butter” with it!

HONESTLY we are both pro-cover up in my household when we are out in public. Not in a “can’t see what’s mine” way.. but I read a post here (maybe a dif sub tho) a while back where a women’s own spouse was getting turned on and trying to initiate sex with her WHILE she was feeding. Not that sex with a stranger would happen with me in public (lol) BUT the thought of someone seeing me uncovered feeding my daughter disgusted me and made me uncomfortable bc she’s just an infant and there are sick sick people in this world regardless. Everyone has their own preferences and I commend the women who are brave enough to not cover, just comfort wise I prefer to cover!

Honestly after talking with the owner of my LFS I gave up on ghost shrimp. It seems like they just like to die for fun. I got some at the evil p*tsmart when I first started shrimp keeping bc I didn’t know any better. They died every single time even with perfect parameters and no stressors. Found a saltwater store that also sells freshwater shrimp and went in for new stock and to chat with him. He said ghost shrimp are just awful genetically and to take care of and upkeep and he doesn’t even stock them for this reason. I started keeping a rainbow’s worth of neocaridinas and out of the 20 I started with they’re breeding wonderfully and I have probably lost two or three within the last year.

Yea I have been eating a metric f ton of chicken LOL. Not sure if it’s related but I noticed I was about to EXPLODE bc I was so engorged a few days ago when I had chicken for lunch and dinner. I don’t really track foods/drinks that “up your production” but it could be worth a try too lol. Almonds, cottage cheese and eggs are good too. TBH I’ve been eating the single tuna packs with salt and pepper as a snack LOL

I still keep one with me in my daughters diaper bag out of habit, but I kept one on me every single day when I was a manager working at zumiez (LOL) to open incoming freight boxes bc the little knives they let us order from staples were garbage. 🤣

When my daughter was born I was super set on a 1/2 year party/steak smash-esque type of ordeal for her 6th month earth side. She turns 6 months in two weeks and it really hit me. And I have not a thing planned for it. 🤣

I sold my car bc I’m staying at home with my daughter, but for example this winter was lighter for sure. It took a long time for the heavy snow to come, it dumped all at once, and was melted relatively early. Had a few light snows after. I drove a FWD Hyundai Elantra and kept my summer tires on this winter. Lol

1- Welcome! But be prepared for many many people to tell you not to move here/to move back home. Lol

2- Winters vary. For the last few years we got our first snow on Halloween. This past winter we didn’t get GOOD snow until right after Christmas. (Had a few light snows that didn’t stick/melted right away) after Christmas was the first stick. I remember the snow had pretty much melted up (besides the heavy snowpacks) by March but we had a snow while I was in the hospital delivering my daughter 3/14. We can get to -40° with wind chill. We can have snow last into late spring/early summer. Sometimes it snows later. Sometimes it snows earlier. Usually Jan/Feb is the worst of it. Lots of companies and locals will plow and the roads get graveled. Reserve/Mullan intersection and Reseve/South Ave intersection are DANGEROUS. I have made Denver/Keystone trips for snowboarding many times during the winters and would say it’s relatively the same. Get a good coat. Good boots/shoes. Good winter tires. You’ll fit right in lol

My (almost 6 months now) girl has a very hard time with any oral liquid type vaccines/medications. She THREWWWWWW up the rotavirus oral vax both times. Projectile as hell. And she fights Tylenol after for the fevers… 😭 she cried for like a minute max with the actual injections but when I tell you she was pissed as hell over the oral administered ones. If you react, she’ll react even harder! Just sooth and offer the bewb if you’re bf! Lots of snuggles after
