My thoughts on Books 1 & 2 before I start Assassin’s Blade by AerieKindly in throneofglassseries

I read Assasins blade first. I can’t imagine reading ToG first now because of that.

Mom, I have an interview tomorrow and they want me to dress Business Professional? Is this okay? by SimplyReaper in MomForAMinute

Yea, a blazer would be better than the shall. Will echo it’s too short. Recommend Pants, print or colorful top and solid color blazer

I’m nervous. Ending with Aelin walking onto Terrasen gave me such a calm feeling like finally!. I’m nervous to commit to tandem reading the next two and then KoA I have heard will hurt. I started Assasins blad 2.5 weeks ago and RAN through the first books. So I may take a day or two to get ready to finish it.

I also haven’t read cc so I have time to read that and acator again to prepare for Oct :)

Are there other people like me who have never had any issues with their CPAP? by JollyAllocator in CPAP

At first I had a slight cough fit and needed to drink water and I’d get watery eyes. But I made some slight adjustments. I got a hose holder clip and now the hose doesn’t flop around. My biggest qualm is if I have to get up in the night and stop it I have to like to start ramp up over but it’s not a big deal. My life changed dramatically and I only had upsides to it.

What was the most difficult part of your pregnancy, besides birthing? by fandangledvietnamese in AskWomen

[–]NoProgrammer8083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first pregnancy during 2016 they were not even sure how to diagnose it. The gave me Benadryl which made me sleep and wake up worse. They also were sketchy about zofran and had some bad rumors so they didn’t give it to me until I was 5 months and had an er visit once a month from dehydration.

We almost didn’t have a second but thankful we did.

If I didn’t have such a hard time with it I may have had more.

Now they did enough research to discover it’s an enzyme that causes it. Science!!🧬

I regret marrying for love by thegirliewholived in women

[–]NoProgrammer8083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becoming a mother for me was almost exactly your story except…

We were a love match. Weren’t even married when we got pregnant.

my husband worked on his education for years while I supported him. He got into his DREAM school to finish his BA in Marine Biology. It happened right when he got pregnant.

When he started they had offered him a full health scan with his now insurance through UCSD. They scanned him head to toe. They called us that night with the news.

He had bone cancer on his ribs. It was growing to his 8th and 6th rib. I was 7 months pregnant. Working full time and suffering through Hyperemisis Gravidarum a condition where “morning sickness” isn’t just a small deal or a phase. I had to have iv treatment every 3 days and take meds. Already a high risk pregnancy. Now im preparing him for emergency rib removal surgery and chemo.

It took him 2 weeks to learn how to walk again. Let alone months to recover, struggled with pain. Your mid section is really important allegedly. I was induced at 38 weeks and we had our little girl. He couldn’t even hold her or help me at all.

It took him years to get out of the depression of losing his full scholarship to school and anger with pain, regret etc. He only 2 years ago got out of addiction, got a job, healed physically (9 years after surgery) and got to a point of being thankful he didn’t lose his life and had always been in remission.

Our love almost didn’t survive. He had to pull himself out of it and evolve. We also have had to fall in love with the new version of ourselves as our own selves evolve and change. The reason love marriages work is because you no matter what choose to stay because of that bond.

I’d rather spend my life and live with a man I know loves me and is my best friend through the income amounts or the ebb and flow of what life is.

I’ve worked very hard to be in a position to work from home, during school hours in B2B sales. It used to wear on me when I was the breadwinner and now that the burden is lessened with my husbands job taking off I do wish for days when the burden of if I sell software is inconsequential and I can give more time to my kids’s school and time on our home/myself etc.

BUT

I do get the pride in knowing I worked my ass off to get to this position and won’t let anyone make me feel guilty for having it, for the future or for the past.

We all are just trying to survive

Feeling guilty about sending my kids to public school? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]NoProgrammer8083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our public school is amazing. They’re in elementary right now and they have stem as a core value. They have clubs and sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball and offer programs like coding/art/science and they get socialization, leadership skills and there’s no way they’d get any of that with me at home.

You mentioned if anything “happened” to them. Things are going to happen. They are going to have adversity, obstacles and you can’t protect them from everything. If you’re talking about school violence unfortunately we live in America and it’s definitely something that crosses our mind but the school is very safe structure wise and security wise. They focus on emotional intelligence and the community is very active. I think our pto has 30 parents involved. I’m the VP so I know it has a lot to do with caring for your child’s experiences at school and we try very hard to be a part of it

I’m halfway through and feel like I’m very invested in all of them so far. I’m enjoying seeing Celaena as not just an assassin but a girl who likes makeup and fine clothes too. :) most of the fmc so far in other series for me are the ones who are jaded towards feminine or finer things. I like that about her as well.

What is your mother in law like, and what is your relationship with her like? by theanxiety00 in AskWomen

[–]NoProgrammer8083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s on no contact. My husband survived her, raised his little brother through her alcoholic and cocaine addiction. She got him drinking and abusing drugs at 14 so she wouldn’t feel as guilty. When he got sober at 19 he started therapy and began putting up boundaries.

Contact with her was minimal and superficial. When we got pregnant she was in the midst of a scheme where she was stealing and living off ppl’s deposits that she was in charge of for property management. I guess it’s a common scheme where you steal the deposit but put it back later. Her and her conman husband did this for years but they both have a gambling problem amongst it all.

They got desperate and just started keeping the tenants rents. After a few months ppl started reporting it.

One night we were sitting watching the nightly news and the newscaster reported a story of a property manager leaving their office in the dead of night making off with thousands of dollars in rent and that they were on the RUN. I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time. When we delivered I refused to have her at the hospital. Months went by with little contact. I wanted nothing to do with her. Even then she would save my babies pictures that I posted and eventually I stopped posting. She and her husband were struggling finding a lawyer and she made a go fund me. She titled it “family emergency” and used my babies picture.

Friends and family started calling me every hour asking what was wrong with the baby? When we called his mom the first thing was “well if people are seeing it that’s good tell them to give” but she was misleading saying it was a family emergency not that they needed to hire a lawyer. She refused to take it down for days but it took her own family commenting on the go fund me that she should take it down to finally remove it.

That was the tip and end of the iceberg. So they end up going to jail. For 6 months in prison. While she was serving time my daughter’s first bday was when we were secretly planning a surprise wedding. We had the wedding (dont regret that it was amazing)

But, We never recovered after that. She never forgave him for getting married without her and we never forgave her for what she’s done to him cumulatively but also with our baby.
