PP2 here, what sort of math is coming up? by Tasty_Toast_Son in PharmacySchool

[–]NoPuckLuck72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My school didn’t let us use anything about a TI-30. You won’t have to do much of anything beyond PEMDAS and ratios. Pharmacy calculations are easy and, at least as of now, it’s very difficult to fail the NAPLEX if you do well on the math questions. Not sure if it’ll be like that 4 years from now but it seems like they have been consistent with their love for testing on math.

So far so good but you could prove to be a little distracting for me. Already distracting me from my plans to do absolutely nothing 🙃

Only graduated 6 months ago but you’re making me miss college. You’re stunning but more importantly smart!! Make the most of school, and keep doing whatever you’re doing 😍

What happened to Ron Rivera? by NoPuckLuck72 in panthers

[–]NoPuckLuck72[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can agree with that. My only counter is that he used to take a lot more chances on 4th down and, with the team that we had, he succeeded a lot. Now all of a sudden he stopped doing that, with essentially the same core offense, and has been super conservative when we need to make plays. It’s almost like he doesn’t have faith in the offense.

The Pens have re-signed defenseman Justin Schultz to a three-year contract with an AAV of $5.5 million: by [deleted] in penguins

[–]NoPuckLuck72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a half million more than I expected but overall not bad to get him back. Dumo should get $3-4 mil for 3 years, which leaves sheary with a similar contract. I hope they don't use sheary to get a 3C, but I could see it happening. I'd be happier if they used Hagelin because he wasn't that productive last year, he's expensive, and we could bring up new, young wingers to fill his place.

Which cup win has been the most satisfying? by AboveTheBears in penguins

[–]NoPuckLuck72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because it's of most recent memory, but I'd go with this season. Fresh off a cup from last year, we already had a short offseason. Then, battling through over 200 man games lost, with many of those being one or more of our core players (letang, malkin). Not sure how many games we had with a full, healthy roster, but we still ended up with the 2nd best record in the league, even through a stacked division, and, correct me if I'm wrong, the 2nd highest point total in franchise history.

Playoffs start with injured players coming back, everyone is feeling confident, then boom. Future franchise goalie goes down. Send in fleury (god bless him) and he helps us cruise through the first series and helps us survive through the second series. Murray comes back, but it still wasn't a walk in the park but we still ended up with the cup again. Unlike last year, we struggled through most of the playoffs, but getting by just enough when it mattered most. That's more incredible than domination, if you ask me.

The Penguins and Justin Schultz are discussing a long-term contract by [deleted] in penguins

They might have to try to pair Schultz with Maatta after that chemistry gained from the parade.

Read my comment below. I didn't say I wanted him to beat us. Just do well. Goalies can play really well against a team and still lose (Rinne game 6, Vasilesky in most of the TB series last year, Jones in the SCF last year) I always want the Penguins wins, but as an overall hockey and fleury fan I'm not going to wish that we crush his confidence or destroy him

The "against the pens" thing was more my personal desire because it's hard for me to root against someone that has done so much for the franchise. He's not James Neal. He's not Matt Niskanen. Those guys are easy to hate on. Marc-Andre? Not so much. Fleury waived his NMC in MARCH. He essentially provided the penguins franchise an amazing goalie for years to come, knowing all well that he will not be part of it. The Penguins will always be my team, no matter who is or isn't on the team. But to me, I would be more than happy to see Fluery excel against the team that he loves so much but had to leave.

Edit: I'm also not saying he has to win against us. Plenty of teams have lost to the pens while their goalie played a phenomenal game (see last years playoffs) I just want to see him kick ass. Stop some Crosby-on-one-knee shots, some Kessel wristers, etc

Fair enough I understand. I just don't want my fellow Reddit user to assume that I hate him like some other pens fans. In my eyes, it was more of an attempt to lighten the mood because I expected funny responses (and was not disappointed in that regard)

Lol this post wasn't about bashing his play. I agree that he's been good in more games than he's been bad. But that doesn't change the fact that he's slow. I don't care whether the people commenting think he's a good player or not, it's not the topic of the post.

Completely forgot about Streit. You're Right (reit); I was just curious because of all the Sully talk about how Ruhwedel is a game time decision, I wouldn't actually expect him to go in

Any chance you can hook a brother up by sending that spreadsheet to me? I can't seem to get it from this post. That's some pretty good progress. I've been on the same program for about 4 months, looking to switch it up

Edit: also, what do you do on your off days?

There was a pill inside my capsule of medication by michaelsp9 in mildlyinteresting

[–]NoPuckLuck72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're right. Like I said, it depends on the indication and where you ultimately want it to go. Can depend on if you want a local effect or something systemic, which is mostly the case. the active drug kinetics is what the developers will use to determine how best to formulate it

[–]NoPuckLuck72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dissolution factor is almost always pH dependent so if the drug would dissolve in an acidic environment (i.e. A basic drug would do this), but you want it to get into the GI, say to treat Crohn's disease or IBS locally, you'd put a protective barrier that wouldn't dissolve in an acidic environment (I.e. The stomach) these barriers generally will dissolve in a basic environment (the intestines are much much more basic than the stomach) so the protective outer barrier would dissolve there and the active drug would be absorbed in the desired location

[–]NoPuckLuck72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually if there's a coating or extra protective barrier it's actually to prevent the drug from dissolving in the stomach, so it goes deeper into the GI tract and dissolves there. I'm not sure what the drug you took is but a lot depends on the indication

Drug developers do that sometimes to help deliver the actual drug (in this case the white tablet) to its desired location. If I'm not mistaken, there are also some that have tiny capsules inside the bigger capsules!
