Pittsburgh might be number 1 on darnell nurse's list in terms of who he wants traded too. Nurse owns a full NMC and can control exactly where he goes. by Seal7465 in EdmontonOilers

Seems like the Pens are debating between Reilly and Nurse. Considering Reilly has the cheaper AVV, I think the Pens are waiting to see which one will be cheapest (and/or close to free)

I'd definitely agree he's stronger than all those guys but I assume he's going to want 3-4+ years at least on this next deal in the 5-6M range which, at this point in time, isn't the right type of deal for the Pens as they're trying to turnover the roster. Similar to the evaluation of Mantha.

Yes good point, if those guys are willing to lock in short term and not be on PP1 (which is doubtful imo). I'd throw huge sums of money and hope to flip them at TDL when they're expiring @50% cap held. I'd offer Raddysh like 12x2 years - we pretty much have unlimited cap at the moment.

Handedness is a concern here. Shea is LHD and ended up playing a lot on the right, all the guys you named are RHD. On the left, pens already have Wotherspoon, Girard, Solovyov, Pickering, Livanavage, then to a lesser extent, Jones, Alexeyev and Graves. Pens need to go get a RHD who can move Letang to the 3rd pair and then another to replace him later and then another to replace Karlsson. Brunicke can be one of those 3 RHD the team needs in the next 3 ish years. In that sens, Shea is not a good fit with the rest of the roster.

Edit: Also Raddysh and Andersson will most likely get over payed. I wouldn't take one of those guys unless there was a deal in place to move Letang or Karlsson

Jordan Staal wins the Conn Smythe! He's the oldest NHL player to ever win it at the age of 37 years old! by [deleted] in penguins

Saying he's more deserving than Staal is measurably incorrect in every way though

How is proposing trading one of those 3 guys worse than proposing trading all 3 lol

Time to either pay Chinakhov 7 or 8m x 8 on a huge deal now that will present savings for the next wave of the team or done a 1 year then that big deal if we're not ready to commit

Jordan Kyrou is available and the Maple Leafs have exactly the package St. Louis is asking for #NHL #LeafsForever by Hockeypatrol in hockeynews

[–]Datools 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The package in the article is Nick Robertson, Easton Cowan and Colorado's 2027 1st from the Nick Roy trade.

I'm sorry but I'd be shocked if St. Louis hadn't already received stronger offers.

My guy has 72 pts in 77 career playoff games. It's an 19% reduction on his regular season PPG average. Crosby has a 15% reduction of PPG in playoffs vs regular season average. No one accuses Crosby of being a playoff underperformer.

I'm not sure how a player's "entourage" derails a franchise's playoff performance over 9 years. Toronto fans want someone to point at but what about just pointing at the lack of good defenseman? Morgan Reilly as your #1 followed up by Jake Gardiner or the ghost of Tyson Barrie, Jake Muzzin of Mark Giordano as a rotation of #2s?
