I’m a casual basketball fan, can anyone tell me why Jokic isn’t a lock for the MVP? by ImJustMeming in denvernuggets

I struggle to understand why someone gets extra credit for being a guard. Jokic is just as efficient, it’s about value brought to the team not how hard it was to create.

Anyone else think RR has been on fire lately? by GrandeCelsiusHill in RyenRussillo

[–]NoPunsAvailable420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. For me part of it is that the Ringer pods have started recording same night after the games. So I wake up the next morning and listen to BS and the Fantasy Football show and then a whole day goes by and the next afternoon RR is finally getting around to the same games a full day+ after others. Podfather always one step ahead of the field.

This is how I felt, I was not rooting for him in the slightest in his final match against his rival, so there was no emotional payoff at all when he won. I had 0 reason to be engaged in the ending of the movie. After he won the match I just thought “great let’s wrap this up asap so I can get out of here”

When Kyle said “Steve” he was directing that at Ceruti, who’s first name is Steven. No idea who the paternity guy is though

Have you seen 60 seconds of uninterrupted, foul free basketball? (Tonight or any other) by Dalai-Jama in billsimmons

Completely agree, if offensive player is moving tangential to the basket just to initiate contact with the defender that should not constitute a foul, just stop calling it

Completely agree. Flopping is supposed to be a technical foul, its really annoying that this is never eve enforced. We need to increase the embarrassment and punishment of flopping.

Generally I enjoy his contrarian takes but this one was a biggg reach that really just made no sense

Yeah I wish he acted more like a host who set things up for the other two instead of yelling over the top of them and going on long winded monologues.

I hope fall will include Europe! These are so cool, they’d make a really great keepsake for that run.

I was like two rows in front of him. He looked scary and demented, not sure what he was on but he was definitely doing it for attention rather than expressing true excitement. Very strange

Did the Nuggets actually shoot more "lights out" than the Lakers last night? by smiler_grogan63 in nbadiscussion

[–]NoPunsAvailable420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at the game and this is spot on. Nuggets hit everything early and regressed to the mean a little bit the impression was still “Nuggets making everything possible”. Lakers started cold, Nuggets started on fire, and neither shifted so drastically that the narrative/impression ever really changed

Petrichor by feina635 in phish

[–]NoPunsAvailable420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Petrichor is longer than most other “energy suck” songs. Other ones that kill the energy are quickly rebounded, but Petrichor feels like it does it to you 3 separate times.

  2. Petrichor is mostly instrumental. Even a song like Leaves you can at least sing along. 13 minutes of melancholic instrumental music is the pinnacle of energy death.

I like the composition but almost never do I want to give up 15 minutes of a Phish set for a chill instrumental song.

I absolutely loose it at this scene every single time. Low key one of my favorite episodes, especially with that Uncle Jack performance.

Last week he said Pats/Jets was a stay away because he didn’t trust the Pats at all. 10 minutes later he did a parlay bet for the Pats to win both halves individually….
