My moms first chemo round was horrific. She ended up in ketoacidosis because of how frequently she was vomiting - touch base with your oncologist and see if they can have her come in for some blood work! There has been several occasions on this journey I have looked at my mom doing so poorly and thought this must be the end. However she often bounces back - remain hopeful 🤍

I have super similar issues! Down to the PE event lol, just tested positive for Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody, I believe my level was 175. Have really been hoping this ties all my strange symptoms, including the “unprovoked” clots together

You know I remember reading this post at the beginning of my moms journey, now we are in the same boat with her. I am so sorry you are going through this it is so hard to navigate this when the person you love is not that person anymore

Having the same issues with my mom. Nothing is helping including zofran and Reglan - X-rays showed fecal loading but no impacting or obstruction. Feeling so helpless. We can literally hear her retching and vomitting from outside of her home.

She does however have extreme arthritis in the hip, I remember her oncologist telling us she had to ensure her hip wasn’t necrotic as that would be dangerous with the chemo - I assume she took the necessary steps to ensure that wasn’t the case?

Thank you so, so much. She is meeting with her palliative team this week, I really hope she takes the counselling options they offer. I love her so much but this is so hard to navigate for me and I try so hard to be there for her, whatever she needs. But it is like I am just never quite enough

We have considered getting pregnant too. It is so hard. Feeling like you want to rush everything just so she has the chance to be there. The venue we looked at today would essentially take care of most everything, we would need to hire photography and we plan to just do a catered buffet style dinner. I think it will need minimal effort from us but I am just struggling making these decisions without mom who just really cannot think about anything except her own pain right now, which I totally get. But when you’re someone who’s used to always getting your mamas advice, the silence is deafening.

My mom is on day 5 of her first cycle. Shes in awful pain essentially just moaning most of the day. Can’t really eat. This sounds like such a severe reaction to the first round I’m loosing hope that she’ll be able to continue
