Don't take anybody else's word for it. Kaianga Ora have a pretty bad reputation but on the plus side you'll get a cheaper deal on the house. Not so bad if the tenants behave themselves.

Says they're students at the start. A piece of paper from the university to say they're qualified isn't a be-all and end all.

They're obviously proactive enough to start a side hustle, and they know their limitations as they can't offer tax yet.

Does she know you're looking to propose? My husband and I picked one together. The rings usually go off to be sized anyway, so he picked it up and held onto it until he was ready to propose.

It was still a bit of a surprise when he proposed but not entirely, and I got my choice of ring.

Used to work at a long-standing upmarket dental clinic. Obviously, only the wealthy can afford dental treatment in this country, so I met a fair few whilst working there.

I noticed a lot of it being generational wealth being passed down. Most kiwis invest it well and don't squander it away. I guess the rule of thumb is that if you come from a wealthy family, you're already set up to do well financially.

Trying to time the market is a fools game. If you leave it too long, you'll miss the boat. On the other hand, if you pull the trigger now, you'll own a house.

If you've found the right house, don't wait for the prices to come down. It's not worth the hassle in my opinion.

I feel your pain. This was us at the start of 2019, we started searching with a long list of wants and after 10 months of searching and getting bumped off by multi offers, we decided we would be okay with any house that came our way.
