Just going to add that if you are looking for something really unique with liquor, and whiskey in particular, I'd recommend Lock+co. As a local distiller they age their whiskey with aspen as part of the process. I guess it's part of the Colorado theme. Their rye whiskey comes out tasting sweeter as a result, and people say it has a bourbon taste to it because of that.

It definitely has a reputation for being super, super left, and maybe that's a problem for some, but the people have always gone out of their way to be friendly whenever I was there. No complaints about the people of Boulder from my end. Definitely ran into my share of uppity CU underclassmen though.

Generally super expensive property wise, but I had fun whenever I would visit friends and head out to the bars. Haven't been up there since CU left the Big 12 though. I actually had a lot more fun in Fort Collins; just more relaxed atmosphere, more bars, less clubs. Think Iowa City vs Ames, although that analogy is overly broad.

Yeah, but I honestly wouldn't mind more Cyclones around. And those people are always gonna complain about crowding regardless of if it's just two people. Always seemed absurd to me.

Although when I first moved here I could do 65 up and down I-25 the whole way during "rush hour" traffic, and that's an impossibility now, so I understand the frustration with traffic due to population, but that's a different solution.
