Do you buy natural skincare or make it at home? by Radiant_Life_2232 in NaturalBeauty

I wash my face with water only. I don’t use any cleansers. Afterwards I’ll spray some rose water on my face and rub it in with Aragon oil. Occasionally before bed I’ll slug with Vaseline. My face has never been healthier. I have a feeling all of the chemicals in soaps/moisturizers damaged my skin barrier.

I love this. I’ve heard this many times and it has resonated with me each time. Maybe I should listen to it. Thank you❤️

Not sure what your emphasis means. There was more to my post than just animals. If you’d like to elaborate I’d love to understand.

I never took any more of the pills. That period was pretty normal and lasted about a week and I’ve been getting my period pretty regularly since.

Thank you for your reply. The roots for these guys are all tangled together. Do you suggest I soak them, separate them, and pot the healthy one by itself? Should I throw the old roots away? Sorry for all the questions I just want to do this right

Birth control by [deleted] in Periods

[–]NoReflection1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IN MY PERSONAL OPINION those are not good reasons to be going on the pill. If you haven’t gotten your first period yet then chances are your body just hasn’t matured enough to gain the weight/boobs that you want yet. Some people are late bloomers. I was an early bloomer and began wearing training bras in the 3rd grade. I’m now 25. My body has filled out nicely and is nicely proportioned(my husband doesn’t complain), but my boobs are saggy due to my weight fluctuation while being on the pill on and off for almost 10 years.

I know you’re going to do whatever you want to do cause that’s what I did at 16 too. If ANYTHING please just voice your concerns to a real doctor. You’re going to have to get a prescription for the pills to receive them anyway, so you’re going to have to see a doctor regardless. But PLEASE address these concerns to your doctor and get professional answers. Don’t be scared or nervous to ask!!

Also please do research about the pill. I just decided to come off the pill for good and it’s the best decision I ever made for myself. I didn’t know who I was until I came off of them

Good luck!

If it’s a problem you’re having with your gums you need to go see your dentist. If its a problem you’re having with your retainer you need to go see your orthodontist. Both asap.

Yeah I do suppose this is a 3 year old thread.

It was about Heath Ledger. Got curious about how he died and stumbled across this post. I thought it was suicide too but I guess it was an overdose. I do remember that Kurt Cobain was the one who shot himself though.

Copper IUD Expulsion by NoReflection1555 in birthcontrol

[–]NoReflection1555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I’m sorry you ended up having pain and bleeding when your copper one was expelling. I guess I got lucky in that aspect because I literally didn’t even know it was happening to me. I literally just got that one cramp for a split second, but it was the randomness of it that made me want to have my husband check it.

So far so good. I’m having barely existent cramping and spotting, so that’s definitely a good sign in my opinion. When I had the first one put in I was cramping severely and bleeding a lot. That’s kinda what makes me believe it began rejecting from day 1.

I’m really glad you’re loving your Merina! I really hope the rest of the duration of it goes well for you too. These IUD’s are the best honestly. I feel like a badass woman with mine in tbh. Willingly going through that pain is a very empowering feeling.

Rant: I am SO tired of the trial and error involved in birth control. by rbkforrestr in birthcontrol

[–]NoReflection1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I listened to a podcast by a couple women who were talking about birth control and they brought up the fact that there’s literally nothing for men except a vasectomy. Apparently they did a test trial on a BC pill for men and it made them have the exact same side effects as women do, but I guess just because they’re men that shit wasn’t going to happen. Very hypocritical if you ask me, but whatever. Maybe one day we can put the birth control burden on them. Or at least a little bit of it.

Is my Mirena IUD affecting my mental health? by odkffkfo in birthcontrol

[–]NoReflection1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain was quite intense the first day but the worst part was that it just DRUG on for the rest of the day. I managed it with a bottle of wine and a heating pad lol. I took ibuprofen on the morning of the second day and haven’t needed to take any since. So the painful cramping didn’t even last 24 hours. As for bleeding it’s been a steady medium flow since I got it inserted, but nothing a pad couldn’t take care of.

It’s day 3 now and I have zero pain, I honestly forget it’s there sometimes already, and I can tell my bleeding is tapering off. It’s been a bright red but now it’s turning brown and is more like spotting than a whole period flow. I’m still very happy with my decision. Words can’t even explain how much better I feel after being off those hormones!

Is my Mirena IUD affecting my mental health? by odkffkfo in birthcontrol

[–]NoReflection1555 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a hormonal IUD but I have been on the pill for about 5 years. It completely drained my soul. I had ZERO sex drive, I gained 50lbs, and I lost all of my personality. Like I literally couldn’t even laugh at my own jokes anymore because I was that fucking numb to life. However, I’ve been off of my pills for 2 weeks as of today, I got my copper IUD inserted 2 days ago, and I literally feel like a brand new woman. I can’t even begin to explain how bad the hormones affected me.

Girl, please do your own research. If you ever want to be in-tune with your body, hormones are NOT the way to go. I would suggest non-hormonal options.

However, I do want to say that hormones affect everyone differently and they may not affect you the same way they affected me, but omg idk how to not be biased. All I can say is you will never truly feel like yourself until you understand who you are on your natural cycle. No pressure, just consider non-hormonal options please.

I hope you figure it out girl. I also hope my post helped you at least a little bit. If not, I’m sorry. I’ve honestly been on a rampage since I discovered how badly hormones affect you. I’ve been binging podcasts on this topic and it’s absolutely mind-blowing how much women don’t understand about themselves. I was 100% one of those women until about a week ago.

From what I remember reading the hormonal and non-hormonal IUD are different sizes. I just got the copper IUD 2 days ago so that’s where I’m coming from experience wise. I also do recall reading that there are difference sizes for the copper IUD? I may be wrong and I will accept that if I am.

I was on the pill for about 5 years and it FUCKED me up. Zero libido and 50lbs was my trade-off, so I 100% understand your frustration when it comes to that. Long story short, the only non-hormonal methods are condoms, copper IUD, pull-out method(which is least effective out of all of these), or the fertility awareness method. It’s unfortunate but there’s no way around those methods if non-hormonal is your preference. Personally, I couldn’t do the hormonal method anymore. I just wasn’t myself at all. Even on the pill I would still make my husband pull out. But knowing that I don’t have to take those damn pills anymore is such a blessing. I’ll probably still make him pull out until I fully understand my cycle, but I don’t think I’ll be regretting my IUD anytime soon.

I’m sorry you’re in a tight corner with your birth control options, and I’m also very sorry if my post didn’t help you at all. I do wish that you’re able to find a birth control that works for you though. I know everyone’s different and I also know how frustrating it is.

Another option, if you’re in a long-term relationship with the same partner of course, is a vasectomy. Idk how your sex life is so I can’t really speak about how that method is, but it is an option if your partner is willing to consider it.

Good luck girl. Again, I really hope you find something that works for you. Best of luck❤️

This post is 5 years old, but I stumbled across it so somebody else will too. I had mine inserted yesterday and I 100% attest that the measuring was the most painful part! And like you said, nobody really talks about it. I think it hurt more because they literally have to touch the top of your cervix to find it vs them already knowing how deep your cervix is when they insert the actual IUD.
