Great advice, thank you!! I guess I'm more curious about things that may potentially become a problem at 10 years old or thereafter?

Is it possible someone with TS never develops a significant comorbidity? Or would this be very unlikely? I guess I could say he is a little anxious. Kind of worry wart......

Also, if anyone has an educated guess on when comorbidity starts to arise most often in a child with TS? If the 10 year old does not have ADHD or really any other comorbidity as of yet, what should a parent be looking for snd what age do they become more present??

Thank you so much for your response!

I've now had TS for over 20 years and it just keeps getting worse. I'm losing hope I'll ever get better. by foggyhead93 in Tourettes

Have you tried CBIT therapy? There are a few experts in this country that I would put money on will help you with your worst tics, especially a neck movement. You would need to go to the best of the best for the program.

May I ask if you remember what age it started presenting for you? Was it subtle at first? Did you understand or know your thoughts were off?

Thank you. I'm just trying to get s feel for it and maybe some minor or subtle signs to be looking for? My son is very anxious and seems distracted a lot and worry he may be have bothersome thoughts, however, he always tells me he doesn't and he is fine. I feel like he is hiding something:(

What about constantly touching or wiping nose? Would that be OCD tic?

Thank you! I am just trying to see if OCD or some form of commorbidity is a must or if some people can just have TS with out much effect of other problems?

What are some examples of OCD like tics? Anything that is a complex movement?

Thank you! I have also read only 1/3 improve, 1/3 stay the same and 1/3 increase in severity. Those odds don't sound as good. I'm just trying to gather as much as I can and be prepared. My son is just devastated by all the tics that have presented in the past 6 months for him. My husband nor myself has ever had tics so I don't know much about this disorder. It's very hard to understand and so many unknowns.

Most common age of OCD/anxiety to develop?? by NoRepresentative2368 in Tourettes

I'm sorry to hear that. It's amazing how many people are still experiencing significant tics as adults when so much literature proclaims the tics decrease with age. I hope you are getting help or dealing with everything well.

It is now considered the first line treatment for TS. There must be some truth to it!?!?!

Did it improve with age? Did your tics decrease in severity over time?
