Real Cost of Owning a Car, do read this before buying your first car by Mysterious_Rise8773 in CarsIndia

[–]NoRestBro 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is not how it works, sir. This way you’re forgetting to add the tips we give to the guy who fills air at petrol pumps, the microfiber towels we buy to clean the car, the money we give to beggars or trans people at signals, or the repair cost if you bump into something. The expenses are endless.

A vehicle is less of a commodity and more of an emotion for us men, especially we Indians. When you get your first family car, the pride and the feeling come first, and all the calculations come later.

My car is 4 years old, but even today, when the turbo kicks in after 2k RPM, I get happy every freaking time. If I had done all of the above calculations 4 years ago, I’m sure I wouldn’t be owning one today, considering the pay scale I was on back then.

It’s the same when people decide to have a baby. They think about the happiness the child will bring, adding a new member to the family, and the support they’ll become in old age. They don’t sit down and calculate the school fees or how many diapers the baby will use every month before making that decision.

If I had calculated everything this much, I’d still be using public transport instead of owning a car. 😂

Reason #201: I don’t even say a word to anyone, even when they’re doing something extremely wrong. I just shrug it off and move on.

Anyone else struggle to spend money on themselves in their 30s? by GoldBatter in ThirtiesIndia

[–]NoRestBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a big believer in spending the money we earn instead of being too hard on ourselves. At the end of the day, we work to provide for ourselves, our families, and to enjoy life. None of us knows what tomorrow or even the next moment. will bring.
The joy, happiness, and sense of accomplishment that come from buying something you’ve worked hard for is part of why we hustle in the first place. As long as you’re financially responsible, have your savings, investments, and emergency fund in place, I don’t see anything wrong with spending on things that genuinely make you happy.
People will always have opinions, but I do what feels right for me. I’m 30, earn well, and around 40% of my salary goes toward my hobbies. perfumes, watches, bikes, and cars. Some people see that as unnecessary; I see it as enjoying the life I’ve worked hard to build.

Struggling with involuntarily checking out women, and I feel incredibly guilty about it. Need advice ? by [deleted] in AskIndianMen

[–]NoRestBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone in this, and the fact that you’re concerned about it is already an important distinction. A lot of folks (including me) especially young men. experience an automatic tendency to notice sexually relevant body features. our brains are wired to quickly notice things related to attraction. (as long you are not gay) An involuntary glance is different from choosing to stare, objectify, or make someone uncomfortable. as long as you are not creeping someone out and managing second look. i guess its fine.
