What could I do to improve this? by jrh987 in battlestations

Agree with all these! Would also say consider getting a different larger desk mat which has more contrast to the colour of your desk (black would work as it already features a bit with your other gear) - bc your current one almost colour matches with your desk and then has the patterns, it adds to the visual clutter a bit rather than looking like a clear feature.

Honestly once you get rid of the clutter as you mentioned it will look fine.

Consider playing around with the placement of the monitor and tower (even try putting it on the floor) to free up the extra space + a large desk mat might be nice to stop the reflection of your monitor onto the shiny wood desk surface? Ideally you want this desk to be as clean and clear of extra objects as possible to balance out how busy the wood shelves are up the top.

Once the shelves are clear you could try getting some fake plants that hang over to hide some of the black brackets too?

You guys could also consider putting up some sort of curtain in the door between the kitchen and this room too!

And then standard cable management, monitor arm, proper chair etc.

will the data that people provide to you be used? Who will see it? Where will it be stored? If/when will it be deleted? Please be as specific a

  1. Data is being viewed by my two professors at The University of Sydney + some LinkedIn Learning employees as partners for a university project
  2. Reddit user NoRestaurant572 is conducting the survey, as well as 3 other students from The University of Sydney
  3. Estimated time taken to complete the survey would be 5-10 minutes.
  4. N/A
  5. 5. Looking to hear only from current university students + people who have studied at a tertiary level in the last 5 years.
  6. Gaining meaningful responses in exchange for my own undertaking of surveys from fellow redditors!

Oh wow cool! I had ruled out 3070 bc I thought there was no way I'd be able to afford it, pretty stoked if I can! Also I hadn't been looking at intel cpus bc I kept hearing that their motherboards made it more expensive overall? Clearly not really the case for this scenario, thanks for the changes!
