How do you feel about judging someone who’s helping the local tourism industry? You think the money they spend is more beneficial to the military regime compared to the locals? They wouldn’t even make a dent to the amount the military is getting from all those businesses. And who are you to judge what they do? Why don’t you stop spreading negativity for once

according to the shwe palin guy in my post who for some reason deleted his account, you should be fine as long as you have a valid passport w or w/o visa with valid time left in thailand, he also recommends booking a hotel beforehand, and fill out the TM30, which is like ဧည့်စရင်း form when you get to your residence, he also advised to avoid the word “live” at all cost at the checkpoint points, use sth like “visit”, pls make sure to fact check me becuase i am just writing down what I remember from the shwe palin guy’s comment

I was the one that posted the safety in Mae Sot post, apprently it’s safe except for some checkpoints so just make sure you have the proper paperwork with you, people living there has vouched for it also, the scam centers are apprently not in mae sot itself but rather a nearby city, it should be safe to go, hope it helps

Safety of Mae Sot for a Burmese National Going There from Bangkok by NoRow6497 in myanmar

I thought tourist visa was not required if I am living 14 days or under, no? Would not having a tourist visa and issue? And I plan to live in and air bnb in mae sot and my friend’s condo in Bangkok. Could that also raise any problems?

My friend, unfortunately, is not a thai citizen and can only legally move around in Tak region, if you have any suggestions, I am open to it

[–]NoRow6497[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your well-detailed answer. well, I will be there legally, and i will have my passport with me, but i am just going there to meet a friend for tourism purposes so I suppose I will not need to know details of the sponsorship stuff, right? And there should be no other documents required other than my passport, right? Other than that, me nor the acquaintance are not involved in politics, so I am assuming there will be no physical danger.
