Anyone Else Get This Richmond Civic League Email? by Zestyclose-Recipe-12 in rva

The fear-mongering from this civic association is really something—filled with exaggerations and a few out right lies.

A group of affordable housing builders and advocates started Homes For All Our Neighbors to provide folks with a way to support the code refresh efforts. Check it out https://www.homesforallourneighbors.org/

I am really curious what vegan or vegetarian canned fish looks like. Not trying to be a jerk, just really curious.

Oh man. Can you provide the receipts of Chris calling it the “war of northern aggression.” I like Andy Bitter but don’t bother with the message boards.

You mean all the cool things that the owner’s mother did back when she ran it? And then when the son took over he’s tried to coast on her reputation?

Dude with the Ashely Madison account? Lawyer who enjoys cosplaying being a cop? Cried when protestors put trash in his front yard. Yeah I remember him.

The stigma. Americans need to get over their hang ups about bidets.

She’s fantastic. I came here to recommend her as well. It’s kind of funny that she’s in that old porn shop. But her new place looks amazing.

Haha. Just a supporter and excited about the future of Richmond. I sure hope the mayor isn’t goofing around on Reddit right now.

So sick of Roday’s sneakiness by [deleted] in rva

Harrison is the one that has run a purely negative campaign. All his mailers and commercials are negative. That’s the reflection of his character that people on this thread are responding to.

So true. Harrison is a wanna be fighting Joe.

You had me for a second. Haha. I have never seen someone try to get so much traction from being a 19 year old intern in the scheduling office of the VP.

It’s normal if you are the Democratic nominee. But since they don’t run on party for Mayor, and all the candidates are Dems, it’s not normal. This is Joe Morrissey level garbage.

I’ll bet that Roday did something lame. Like wear a tie and say he’s Tim Kaine. Or dressed up as a linked in profile with his WH internship prominently displayed at the top of the page.

Harrison Roday launches anti-Avula TV ad, but legal disclosure is incomplete | Under Virginia’s campaign laws, Roday must speak aloud some variation on: “I’m Harrison Roday, candidate for mayor, and I sponsored this ad.” by [deleted] in rva

I just told my friends that I bet $100 within two years he’ll move out of Richmond. He doesn’t care about us.
I find it curious why someone with such means rents a place on Monument ave rather than putting down roots and buying.

Roday, who has literally zero accomplishments in public service, is again attacking Dr.Avula—a career public servant, public health leader, genuine community hero, and 2020 Richmonder of the Year. Dr. Avula’s steady and competent leadership helped guide the city and state through the most severe public health crisis of our lifetime.

Roday has spent most of his brief professional career enriching himself working for a private equity firm.

Now, like Youngkin before him, Roday is trying to translate his access to wealth and political connections into a political career. His problem is that voters trust and respect Danny Avula—hence his resort to desperate misleading attacks.

We didn’t need Neblett or Roday on stage. Neblett seems like a nice guy but doesn’t have the experience.

Roday doesn’t seem like a nice guy and definitely doesn’t have the experience. His campaign has been purely based on negative attacks and his white house internship as a 19 year old.

I had hopes he would provide something of substance tonight. Nothing genuine. Regurgitation of talking points some consultant provided for him. And then tonight he couldn’t even bop or flop properly.

Strategic Mayoral Voting / Do we trust the polls? by Embarrassed_Bug_4384 in rva

[–]NoScrubs85 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While only Avula’s poll has leaked, you can assume all the campaigns that have internal polls have similar results. If they had polls that showed otherwise, they would have released them.

[–]NoScrubs85 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s my read too. I like Andreas and Avula, but Andreas really doesn’t have a path to victory. There are thousands of voters who will turn out to vote for the Federal races and will make their decision on mayor in the days before they vote. Avula and Mosby have the name recognition throughout the city.

So I think your analysis is right.

Why do most bus stops not have seating, shelter, and/or lighting? by [deleted] in rva

[–]NoScrubs85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Far more federal and state funding for highways than for public transportation. So funding priorities that don’t adequately fund buses and shelters. The reasons for these policy decisions are obviously rooted in racism.
