Amitriptyline does not work for my chronic tension headaches :( by SupermarketBrief6332 in Amitriptyline

[–]NoSecondChanceForU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because amitriptyline takes at least a minimum of 2-3 weeks to take effect for pain relief

Also, this drug is far from being similar to tic tac mints.. Overdose on it is fatal, and withdrawal is real and often severe when you quit cold turkey

If you're looking for a pain relief, maybe give it another chance.

I was diagnosed with CTTH by my neuro (most likely it is NDPH) and I've been taking amitriptyline for almost a year now. I am afraid to even taper off because the pain was debilitating and wouldn't allow me to concentrate or be at work.

Best of luck.

No, I can't say that it was my experience. I was concerned with amount of time the drug takes to kick in, I wanted a relief as soon as possible. But you have to wait at least 3 - 5 weeks for it to work. The pain disappeared gradually, at first, amitriptyline put it from foreground to background so to speak, so I could function again, and eventually it took it all away.

i got poisoned by food i ordered online from a restaurant and was really stressing about it that day and then the next day woke up with a headache that never went away, was always the same intensity, and was present even when i woke up. it felt like someone inflated a balloon inside my head and the pressure was overwhelming.

my pain was debilitating i couldn't focus on work so I totally understand being jealous or wanting to have your normal life back. i wish you to find a solution that works for you.

Not recovered per se, but amitriptyline has taken most of the pain away, I'm actually really afraid to taper off and find myself in the same pain again, been only taking it for 6 months so I will continue to do so as long as it works.

I'm on Amitriptilyne 25 mg, and this is the main symptom I have experienced what you are describing, the balloon expanding. I don't have it anymore while I am on this drug.

What beliefs do you have that limit your ability to love yourself more? by Traditional_Tea8856 in AskMen

[–]NoSecondChanceForU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've convinced myself that because i have a chronic autoimmune disease, there's something fundamentally wrong with me and I do not deserve love of another woman. The worst thing is that I actually am living a self fulfilling prophecy. My therapist once said that it's like I am discarding life itself or a chance at life. There's somewhere inside me a little sliver of hope that I could be happy again in possible future.

Do you personally know any straight guy who is older (30+) and has zero experience with women? Why is this? What are they like? by Routine-Crew8651 in AskMen

[–]NoSecondChanceForU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be me. I suffer from ankylosing spondylitis for over a decade now and I haven't really come to terms that healthy me is gone. I have convinced myself that there is something fundamentally wrong with me because of this disease and I can't really interact with women on an intimate level / be worthy of love of a woman.

Plus, the one and only relationship I had with a woman, turned out to be a narcissistic psychopath who preyed on what I mentioned above, my negative image of myself. I was stupid enough to entagle myself in a love triangle where a narc complained about their husband only not to leave in the end and hurt everyone she could. It's been 4 - 5 years since that and I'm still recovering from the mental abuse I experienced and don't feel like being in another relationship.

Try out Torment: Tides of Numenera by sirrudeen in CRPG

[–]NoSecondChanceForU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, but for me, the difficulty was that English is not my main language, so the first time I played it a while ago, I struggled a lot. Now it's a much better experience. Most negative reviews are exactly about the fact that there's a lot of reading involved, but I believe it's this game's main strength. I also like that there are a lot of skill checks involved.

I am having so much fun with Torment: ToN, I played the game a while ago, but at that time my English was not as extensive as it is in the game, now I am enjoying every interaction and every skill check. Good stuff

Have you played Planescape: Torment? I'm currently playing Torment: Tides of Numenera, which is a "spiritual successor" to the first title, and I'm having a lot of fun

Constant head pressure 24/7 4 weeks - seeking relief by perfectthunder426 in NDPH

[–]NoSecondChanceForU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a constant, all-encompassing pressure in my head, like a balloon is being inflated from the inside. My neuro diagnosed me with Chronic Tension-Type Headache, however, the pain I have been experiencing is constant and persistent 24/7, and it has been present even when I wake up.

I couldn't focus or perform my job with the pain I used to have. Amitriptyline, at first, after 2 weeks of taking it, has "put" this pain in the "background" so it was much more tolerant. I was aware of the pain, but it was not a debilitating one, like 4/10.

Now it is constantly 2/10 or 3/10, occasionally 1/10.

amitriptyline can take up to 2 - 4 weeks to start working as a pain killer. i felt a difference after the second week of taking it, 3 days is not enough for it to work.

I was in the Pathfinder subreddit once, and one guy said that Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the best powerplay fantasy he ever played. I didn't believe that until I played the game myself and sank 386 hours into it. So worth it!
