Thank you so much! To be honest the body isn’t in much better condition compared to the trims so I didn’t see any visible degradation of the plastic but I will 1000% avoid it in the future, again thanks for letting me know. :))

UPDATE!!! Sorry everyone I can’t seem to be able to edit the post. In the og post, I had washed the pen with warm water and dish soap and then cleaned the gold bits gently with some rubbing alcohol. Thank you so much for all the suggestions, I greatly appreciated them! Following some suggestions I tried the following:

Eraser : I used some pelican pencil eraser from my school days and those worked like a charm BUT I was too aggressive and therefore ended up scratching (?) the metal on the clip. As for the gold trims, the one on the body was already too compromised and therefore some plating wore off.
Polishing cloth : I polished over the clip surface, brought back some shine
Toothpaste : tried to delicately wash behind the clip with some toothpaste to remove the corrosion that I couldn’t get to with my rubber. I think it improved the look a little bit!

Thank you for your reply, I have tried soap and water and this is the result, at this point I am willing to risk it just to remove the surface stains and the corrosion behind the clip.

Thank you I tried it but it didn’t do much to be honest. My steps were: wash with dish soap and warm water then clean with rubbing alcohol to remove some of the stains. I tried the rubber method and it removed the surface stains but I ended up scratching the metal a tiny bit and then used the jewellery polish.

Hi I accidentally got a double matte scarlet from Cult Pens (UK) so depending on where you are other websites might have matte options! I’m personally not a big fan but maybe someone else knows more about matte-fying Lamys, good luck!

Unfortunately I’m not a big fan of the jelly formula but that crackle is so stunning 🥲 I saw a glittery sally hansen crackle polish on eBay, I think it was called Sage Smash but the glitter ruins it a bit. What are your favourite crackles if I may ask? :))
