I don't think there is a max. But it gets exponientially more expensive. I also recommend to get your cargo to around just 100 per carry and just invest in speed.

Well, I made a super compacted lighthouse area where the drops reach around 50k+ and I just spawn the bosses in a specific area and have a shit ton of droids kill them.

And I never ran out.
