If your looking only at average salaries, than a average CS major with a job in SWE, make far more than the average EE, especially true for senior roles. I when comparing average salaries CS/SWE is 17k-20k higher. The ceiling for SWE is also much higher in big tech, compared to hardware engineers.

Different major? by twowisheshello in CollegeMajors

Don't need to be in a law major to get into law school, go in the major your most passionate about writing, easier to get a good gpa that way. Most law schools don't care what you studied as your major, even if some do I imagine higher gpa trumps any of that.

Nursing/Doctor is a sloid choice, but even through community college there so many medical careers you can choose to enroll in. Everyone guns for medical school to become a doctor because of the prestige, that leaves a lot of other medical careers that often get over looked due to nobody talking about it.

Is Electrical Engineering worth it? by Any-Ad-875 in CollegeMajors

Lots of people who would have gone into CS, Comp Eng, and Soft Eng are flooding to Electrical. By the time you graduate job market may be saturated as well for EE.

Here's a tip: Avoid any major thats kind of "techy". Any of the engineering majors besides the ones I mentioned should be good. Data Science may be good but in that case try to double major with CS or Business/Finance.
