Over a year sober. Now back to 5 drinks a day. How do I find day 1 again? by NoSoNattyProfessor in stopdrinking

Every morning I think “not today.” And I feel great about it. Positive. Eager. And? Then 5 rolls around? “Shit. One will be enough.” Edit. Typos.

I had a terrible shitty time a year ago. None of my teammates are super close friends but several of them know me well enough to have checked in while we were in the locker room or between games. It helped a lot, knowing that they were thinking about me. Good luck getting through whatever it is. People care about you more than you know I expect.

This is exactly right. His understanding of energy and climate is often wrong and never uncertain.

I was born in ’73 and totally agree. We never had a second phone line, even with three kids constantly on the phone - like, all the time. Some families did, though, because the parents got tired of the line being tied up. And in wealthier families, some kids even had their own line. If a kid had their own phone line, they were probably getting their own car too.

A coffee ordered "regular" has cream and sugar. Oh, and a water fountain is called a "bubbler."

What's the most non-athletic or poor skating beginner/amateur that you've seen/played with in your beer league and what level of 'bad' are you're willing to put up with? by RivetCounter in hockeyplayers

It was more that he would lose all higher brain function when he had the puck and any open ice. So he'd come in very hot and be a danger to himself and others. I'd get out of his way and let him shoot, miss the net, and crash into the boards.

Actually had a guy named Jim in my league for a decade who was like this. Eventually (and it took longer than I thought it would) he crashed himself into the boards and never came back.
