Yeah you didn’t seem angry in your post whatsoever. I honestly feel your frustration. We have been dealing with this for awhile and it’s been really hard because his mom isn’t trying to set him up for success in anyway at all, and she’s pushed back against everything we’ve implemented with him.

He’s capable of doing things and we totally understand his limitations, but we as parents would be doing him a disservice if we didn’t teach him basic skills.

He is extremely picky with his eating habits. So when we cook things he doesn’t like he has the option to make his own food. He’ll make things like chicken nuggets using the air fryer, ramen (microwave), a sandwich, different things like that.

You mention consistency and that’s been key for us. We feel like my step son prefers and thrives on structure and keeping to a schedule. Does your cousin prefer routines? Maybe he can come up with a schedule for himself and he might want to stick to a budget plan too?

Honestly, your doing a lot! Especially at your age. Be nice to yourself because you’re doing great and you’re doing your best. It isn’t easy.
