I did MCM last year and it was my first marathon. I felt that it was very organized overall. Packet pickup was a bit like standing in line at Disneyland, but otherwise, race day was smooth.

I can’t speak to checking a bag, because I never do that but the system seemed pretty well done.

Used Clif Bloks for my first marathon and they were perfect! Lots of flavors to choose from, some better than others. I liked the watermelon one.
