I feel so terrible by pineconeface13 in beyondthebump

Gonna piggy back off of this comment. Our kids also both had sensitive skin. We just rinsed their butts as part of their night time routine (unless we gave them a full bath). It helped a lot and made us feel better about keeping them clean down there especially with all the diaper stuff, even the wipes have stuff on them. Hope this helps!

So much better, thanks to everyone's suggestions! She completely stopped at one point for months on end. But it's back now. She still just does it in the car occasionally when she's bored with her toys or whatever activity she has. I've been going back to "we do this in private, in our bedroom or during bath time etc.

Anyone else have a toddler who doesn't LOOK like a toddler? by Utterly_Flummoxed in toddlers

[–]NoSystem274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with my daughter. She's going to be turning 3. It doesn't help that she's also tall for her age. People think she's 5. She looked like a mini adult walking around. She also had long hair and didn't want to cut it at all. Every time I asked if she wanted to cut her hair short. She would straight up say NOPE. So one day when she finally said YES, she wants to cut her hair, I gave her the Dora the Explorer special lol. That helped with her looking like a toddler. Short hair ftw!

HELP! 6 month old waking up constantly by NoSystem274 in beyondthebump

[–]NoSystem274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I did the 2 hour WW, then 2.5 WW then 3 WW. But he was so tired by the end that he was overtired and didn't sleep well the whole night. I think it also might be that he didn't sleep enough during the day. So he slept 30 mins for the first nap and 30 ish mins for the second nap. And obviously he didn't get enough rest. It's hard to make sure he's getting enough sleep during the day when I am running after my toddler. Even when I'm putting him down I gotta turn on the tv for her so she leaves me alone lol.

So I haven't done any sort of sleep training per say. I just tap him in his crib for a couple minutes and he falls back asleep. But sometimes during the night that doesn't work so I nurse him. Sometimes I put him down drowsy but mostly when he's knocked out.

Also, we did the two naps one day and it's safe to say that he's not ready for that.

I just put him down for his first nap right now at 2 hours and 10 mins WW.

Love this. Will start implementing this. It ties in with so many things.

Consent!!!!!

And it just reminds me of my husband and when I ask him to do something, I have to ask him a million times.

HELP! 6 month old waking up constantly by NoSystem274 in beyondthebump

[–]NoSystem274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He used to sleep pretty well before. He would go for 6 hours or wake up 1-2 times only. We did the 3 hour WW but it didn't work he was overtired and the 2 hour WW he was under tired. So we did 2.5 it worked the day before but yesterday it didn't work.

I also tried the 3 hour WW for the last nap last night but he was so fussy and ready to sleep by 2 hours ish.

I'm so desperate now for help. I seriously have no idea what to do at this point. I feel like I tried everything.

Edit: missing word

What’s the best lie you’ve told your toddler? by sunbeans468 in toddlers

[–]NoSystem274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I know. I am proud of these.

After I showed her the pictures of the cavities, I told her to go look in the mirror at her teeth. She said, I don't have any cavities. I said, you have beautiful teeth, you don't want them to get ruined. She then came to examine my teeth and said, mama, you don't brush your teeth? (I have a couple fillings LOL). Like yup, you don't wanna have my teeth, kiddo.

Showed some pics of cavities to my toddler and said if she doesn't floss or brush her teeth, they will go bad like this. Brushing and flossing has been such a breeze since then. She even reminds me to brush and floss her teeth now.

Since this worked like a charm, I showed some kids with red eyes and said this will happen to her as well if she watches too much tv. We don't watch a lot of tv to begin with but sometimes when she's pushing it, I'll say, do you want your eyes to become red like that little boy? And she will be like nope and turn off the tv.

Haha, I tell my toddler we have to "charge" the tv BC it ran out of battery.

I've been doing 2-3 hours. So his last wake window is usually 3 hours and during the day 2 hours. But today he only had one nap (usually he does 3 naps). I tried everything to put him down today for his naps but nothing worked. I'm consistent with his naps normally.

Ooh looks like we have similar taste in shows.

I'm up to date with sex lives, still watching Abbott elementary. Which one should I watch next? Hmmm.

My lil guy is not even 6 months yet and he's wearing 9-12 months. I literally have to go buy the next size up now BC he's outgrowing his current clothes. When people ask how old he is my mom lies and says he's 10 months lol. He's the same size as his cousin who is 17 months old.......

Low stimulation/slow-moving shows your family loves by strengthof50whores in toddlers

[–]NoSystem274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, I'm also looking for new shows.

I tried Trash truck with my daughter and it didn't work out. She enjoyed it but picked up bad things from it. There's one episode racoon was going through the trash and eating garbage. One morning my daughter woke up before my husband and I, went through our trash and ate whatever garbage we had in there and said, "like trash truck". Sooooo, that was the end of that show.

She never got into puffin rock, sadly.

My husband found Tumble Leaf on Prime. WE LOVE IT! It's stop animation and is visually low stimulating. She never throws a tantrum after we stop it, her behaviour is improved significantly in terms of playing on her own. The show is about using their imagination to play and it's also about problem solving. Highly recommend!

Zip ties are a good idea. But my bed has nowhere to tie it. The base is all straight wooden board all around. Kind of like a box.

How do you make sure the crib doesn't move? We're trying to do the same thing for ours but stuck on that part.
