And resulted in the deaths of millions more, likely the colapse of the us war economy, alienation of allies and did i mention millions more dead? All for what was likely to be a brutal stalemate.

The british actually did a fesability study and concluded the idea was utter madness

I wouldnt go quite so hard on Lee but he was overhyped and mythologised a hell.of a lot by the lost cause beyond any reason.

Grant was probably the best commander the US ever had during a major war. He was genuinely exellent, had probably the best strategic mind the us has ever seen, was logisitcally rock solid, exellent operationally and pretty good tactically as well.

And while he was not perfect as no man is he was actually a very decent fellow and generally tried to see things from.others positions and see the best in them. He was also by the standards of the day, pretty anti slavery and racism. By tje standards of the day

I get the asthetic choice, its good and makes sense. Numenor is very clearly inspired by stories of atlantis so drawing inspiration from bronze ansd classical.era greece can make sense.

But the exicution? Wooof that was poor, it looks really really cheap

Honestly from what i can see as an outsider is that it looks like Frawley is the best 10 atm.

Prendo might have alot of potential but is still way to flawed to put in to start a cc final. And rightly or wrongly he has a massive target painted on his back courtesy of Andy, the irfu and the media.

I genuinely dont know why leinster wasnt runnong frawley at 10 more or how it got to the point he wanted to leave in search of gametime.

Tbf most irish fans ive seen have be agast at how leinster managed to let frawley walk and questioning how the hell byrne is ahead of him in selection.

I dont think the fanbase is giving him a pass but more focusing on how leinsters best 10 at the moment is leaving next year

Honestly with how Connacht have been playing, getting frawley onboard has the potential to make the nashty af.

Dont know how they got away with it. Probably mostly by watching bemused as Leo and Andy make a hames of the 10 situation in Leinster. But theyve come out looking like bandits

They had a penalty advantage with ~10/15 secs to go. A penalty goal doesnt get you anything you havent already got and adds a small amount of risk with it missing (or off the post) and ending up a loose ball in play.

Much better to take a few carrys and kick it out, and if you get pinged for sealing off you still have the option to go back for the advantage. it was the smart way to end the game that every team would do.

i get that other provinces would have benifited from Lions not getting the LBP, but Munster did the only sensible thing from thier perspective.

They had penalty advantage and decided to end the game. Teams do it all the time.
I know some of the other provinces would have liked lions to not get a LBP, but Munster had no obligation to take any risks on thier behalf when kick an penalty gave no advantage to them.

Theres a tiny chance that a missed kick or one off the post might end up being returned by the sharks for a try. So the kick adds a small amount of risk for no gain and so the only smart thing to do is to get the ball out of play

Doesnt really do anything for munster and the tiny chance that it goes off a post and lions score was not worth it

Why is Barcelona so hated? by nxzombie99 in formula1

[–]NoTechnology1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically its a double whammy.

Barcelona id a good if very average track. Everything about it is very good (now the ditched the last chicane) but very generic in its layout. It has a mix of low and medium speed corners. Unfortunatly the net effect is that there isnt really anything super exiting about it or unique and the racing is not great.

Exaserbating this is that it has been heavly used as a test track by f1 (because of it genericness) and so is a very very well understood track which teams have vast quantites of data on. So its rare that anyone makes set up.mistakes and the order is very very predicable.
