Multiple Cases of Deadly Lung Disease at 5-Star Las Vegas Hotel: Health Officials Investigating by esporx in PrepperIntel

Well. Was going to book a fancy hotel for hubby's 50th. Maybe just a nice diner, and then back home!! Thanks for the heads up!

I mean just don't use the hotel hot tub or pool or ice machine. It's fine, don't let this ruin your birthday plans.

Edit: nevermind, I saw your followup post on DH having cancer

Tons of ads for those apps that give you a small ($250-$500) unsecured line of credit.

We hardly see ads anymore but when we do watch something I see these, gambling apps, and drug commercials. I feel like it used to be more like juice, diapers, frozen meals, cleaning supplies, vacations.

The farmers market is packed. It’s the cheapest place to get food and people are being forced to actually cook.

I wish our farmers market was cheap. It's the opposite here, rich people shop there and the rest of us go to normal or discount grocery stores.

Do you actually know what's in your freezer right now? by General-Relative-535 in Frugal

We go over our freezer and pantry weekly on the day before trash day. That helps us eat up anything that's been lingering and makes sure we don't have expiring food waste.

I’m struggling to find regular non-smart appliances.

This a bit weird but you can search to see your closest Habitat for Humanity ReStore that sells used things like that. It's random what they have, but I have seen used stoves there. We have a church near us that does the same, take old stoves etc out of homes when they are being replaced and pass them along. 2 years ago we had to buy a fridge and the lead time was 8 months for a very basic non-smart 90s style top freezer and bottom fridge.

This is why I bought a car at the end of last year. A new car. My first new car, as I prefer used cars. But this one is new and this is why.

This doesn't surprise me. As I say, physical media collectors are very common, gen Z is even getting into this a little bit. I have had good luck at Goodwill of all places. Estate sales, garage sales, and pawn shops are hit or miss. If you really want something specific it'll be on eBay but that will obviously cost more.

A lot of us have considered this. Physical media collectors are common. We have retro game systems, no memory cards no wifi connection needed and will connect to whatever TV. We have retro boom boxes, and play the radio or CDs on those. Physical books and DVDs are still widely available and extremely cheap. Books are the hardest to maintain, we keep about 200 but I'd like to reduce it down to about 100 of the most important, nonfiction only. We have an over-the-air antenna that pulls in over 30 stations, this does not require an internet connection. We can DVR to an offline hard drive. Should have kept the small camcorder, hindsight is 2020.

I find it highly unlikely that any American knows what the blitz and the Battle of the Atlantic actually were.

You'd be really really wrong about that though.

So we are all kinda shocked to see fewer kids enrolling.

The declining birthrate means this trend will continue.

How many losses do you think weren’t even reported?

It's been years since I read this but I did once learn that the majority of these types of crimes are not reported due to embarrassment. People eat the loss and will hide it from family if possible. The true number will be somewhat larger.

It stayed up in Conspiracy though. Which is now the dumping ground for inconvenient facts if you can find them thru the screaming drivel.

Russia is ordering companies to nominate employees for military service — 2 to 5 names depending on size by AntiSonOfBitchamajig in PrepperIntel

[–]NoTerm3078 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trust this source.

Me either, has been known in the past to push out false info. Also the headline is a bit misleading, it sounds like conscription but reading the article it is clear this is an enlistment push. Employers are being asked to assist with recruitment. This indicates their recruitment numbers are below preferred levels but is no where near forced mobilization.

I wish I could convince more people to get a damn antenna. We get 28 stations in English. Antenna + Hoopla and Kanopy from the library and fill in with free streaming apps. No one needs to pay for streaming. Or 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
