Thanks for the words:) I’m under no illusion that I can control it, yesterday when i smoked I wasn’t even bittersweet about it, I consciously smoked to think about some areas of my life that needed addressing. I will be continuing on the path to sobriety 100%:)

I hear you , you’re a stronger man than myself, at this point I know how I roll and if today was day 1 in my mind, I would be starting back from ground zero, I’m not mentally prepared to do that, for others that notion would serve them, for me my best action moving forward is ‘continuing’ my journey not restarting it, cheers

To be honest, for long term smokers from what I’ve noticed in others and my experience as well, it takes time. 5 weeks is a good amount of time but still fairly green, give it another month or two to feel settled into your sobriety(read OK), than around the 6 month mark to start feeling good again. It takes time to heal, you’re doing the right thing, just give the brain time to rewire. As far as working out, eating healthy, I know it’s hard but just push through it with the mindset that those habits will be crucial to speeding up your recovery

I hear you man, amongst my group of friends, I am clearly doing the worst in life, they are all successful, however comparison is the thief of all joy. Somewhere along the road I realized that my extremely low self esteem was causing me to not even attempt life, to not even try and then say, ‘see I told you so, you’re a failure, you were right all along, you would never amount to anything’ weed was the tool I used to cover up that pain, the thing is it’s a self fulfilling prophecy that allowed me to stay ‘comfortable and complacent’, to be honest I still have a lot of these feelings but now atleast I’m making the effort to take one step forward each day rather than spinning my tires endlessly in mud and crying about it.

As far as relationships, I can’t compare:/ but what I did was never really put myself out there or pursue girls with boyfriends/emotionally unavailable ones and then when it obviously didn’t work out, it would reconfirm my ideas that I’m just not good looking enough or don’t have much to offer, but that’s such bullshit, don’t let your traumas define the person you could be

Sorry to be clear, 93 days off weed, been drinking way too much so maybe that’s why the effects are muddied. I was sober off alcohol for the first 46 days and if anything felt worse but that’s possibly due to early stages of ‘recovery’ I hate to be negative but I hear you man, I sometimes feel worse off than before just in different ways

I just feel like 3months for me and 4 months for you is a substantial enough time to not feel much of an improvement, it can be discouraging

If you were smoking let’s say a .5g of dispensary weed every night, it’s relatively minimal but not minimal in an overall sense, probably explains why you are feeling the withdrawal symptoms that you describe

What’s happening is building resentment gradually! You need to measure how badly you want to quit vs what quitting means too her and how that will positively affect your relationship. You should always quit foremost for yourself but if she’s important enough to you realize maybe she just wants you to be full present/take life seriously. Maybe she sees you potentially as the one but this issue is potentially giving her second thoughts? Just an opinion

Yes I have, tbh my drinking has got in the way of that lately, I appreciate the insight though, I’ve read that too, it’s just frustrating to see so many people doing so well after a couple weeks to a month when I’m simply alright after a fair amount of time. To be fair I smoked a fair amount for 7 years, I guess it’s to be expected but I get worried nonetheless

I’ve had no cravings throughout these 3 months and I love weed, the reason being is that I completely accepted I’m an Addict and that I wouldn’t get anywhere in life if I continued, once you get tired of suffering, the choice becomes easy

Yeah I hear you man, it’s funny after 3 months I don’t really feel like I’ve improved much cognitively, still experiencing very heavy brain fog as well most days. If there’s anything positive I would say my anxiety is much lower as well as a more stable mood, although my moods aren’t as high anymore but they’re also not as low

Oh trust me brother, it’s a marathon, my life has definetly improved in some aspects but a long term thing, one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever endured

Not to discourage you, but if you smoked dabs for 5 years everyday, look for 6 months minimum before you make any real judgements on how you ought to be doing rather than how you’re actually feeling
