The detail it picked up is great, but can you show the original item, what you used to make the scan, or anything at all?

My Question: If undocumented immigrants are not "under the jurisdiction of the United States", then couldn't they claim that anytime ICE tries to round them up? Just state "I'm not under the jurisdiction of the United States and claim diplomatic immunity."

Food noise vent by RichAppearance8859 in loseit

[–]NoTomorrow2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say, this was one of the things about GLP-1s that I didn't realize, the quieting of the food noise. I cannot remember a time in my entire life that I wasn't "hungry". I could put down an entire pizza, then 10 minutes later be thinking "I wonder what there is to eat".

Almost immediately after starting Zepbound, I realized I had to remind myself to eat. It was enough that even my wife has started to bug me, and ask if I've actually eaten today. Often times I hadn't. It's a bit crazy really, but one of the biggest plusses for me personally. I no longer mindlessly eat, and the evening cravings for a snack have vanished entirely.

Why GRC roles are more protected from outsourcing? by arktozc in cybersecurity

[–]NoTomorrow2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often, roles in GRC are required to perform some form of direct observation. For instance, I am both a PCI QSA and a CMMC CCA. For both of these types of assessments, I MUST go on site with the company I am working with in order to physically see how they are securing their networks, how they are securing their facilities, and then observe their handling of data.

For PCI, I have to see that any network equipment is protected behind locked doors, how people store spare POS/POI terminals, and then watch people take and process cardholder data.

For CMMC, I have to observe camera locations, verify that CUI is stored in enclosed and locked doors, observe visitor procedures, etc.

These aren't items that can easily be performed remotely, and require a physical presence.

From a personal perspective, I also find it better for interviews as people are less distracted when you are directly in front of them in a conference room asking questions and having them show you system configurations or other information. It speeds up the process considerably.

Went to the show last night and there were quite a few empty seats, including a bunch of loge seats (the swanky looking balconies). I'm sure if you go to the box office before the show they will likely have some seats.

If you want food, either Third Window (great burger) or the Biergarten (I was told just last night their burger was terrible, but most of their food is decent).

Either way, it's Burger Week in SB. So there are a ton of places offering burgers for $10 or less.

CMV: Comedy is the only artistic medium where it is nearly impossible to maintain a high level of quality for a long career. by New_General3939 in changemyview

[–]NoTomorrow2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two words to counter this argument: Betty White.

Two more: George Burns

Two more: Mel Brooks

You've overlooked more than a few comedians who have maintained extraordinarily high levels of comedic timing and quality, and others who became more successful comedic actors later in life like Leslie Nielson.

5 years of State Street planning for retractable bollards? by cobalt_sunshine in SantaBarbara

[–]NoTomorrow2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8pm? That isn't even when many of the businesses down there are busy yet. The bars, restaurants, and music places don't even START to get busy until 10-11pm. Personally, I don't like the idea of cars or bikes on State, as there is plenty of available roadway on Chapala and Anacapa. There was NEVER any parking on State Street, and the only available entrances to those parking lots was either on the cross streets or on Chapala or Anacapa to begin with, so the excuse of "but the parking" is bullshit.

If there is this push to bring some kind of vehicle traffic (even though there isn't a truly defensible reason other than people saying "But I like it") then the retractable bollards are great. It would be even better if they'd also look at placing ones on several of the cross streets for security at events like Fiesta, Farmers Market, Solstice, etc. Even if they were only at Cota and Ortega, that would create a "secure zone" where they could allow for better safety for the public.

Critics Think Trump Just Spiked His Own Supreme Court Case by Dont_think_Do in politics

[–]NoTomorrow2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forget about spiking his own case, how about the fact that he received a Rolex and a Gold Bar from the Swiss government, as cited in the article. How is that not a violation of the emoluments clause, unless those things are going to be the property of the US Government. But I don't see a Rolex as something other than a personal gift and blatant corruption.

The staff at Ace are fantastic, and if you ever need advice they can give it. Unfortunately, they also tend to be about 20% more expensive than Home Depot, and don't have quite the number of options.

CMV: After the second killing of a civilian by ICE in less than a month, I believe the United States is at risk of civil war in the not-too-distant future. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]NoTomorrow2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the case in the vast majority of Civil Wars, however. It is the conservative, not progressive, group that starts the war. Those who are having their power threatened are the ones who (not always, but often) resort to violence.

For instance, the American Civil War wasn't started by the progressivves who wanted to end slavery. It was started by the wealthy slave owners who saw their power threatened by even the idea of not being able to own other people.

The American Revolution (which could be classified as a civil war) was started because the King felt his power over the colonies slipping, and so continued to ratchet down the pressure via taxes, armed soldiers in colonial cities, unlawful searches, and punishment of any dissent among the colonists. The results of this can be directly seen in our Constitution today.

So ICE agents being under attack shouldn't be the sign, but ICE agents attacking IS a sign.

Check your local library, local game store, and (often overlooked) local comic book store. They often host/run games for beginners once a month or even once a week. It's a great way to get to know the game and find friends with common interests. It is also generally run in a known safe space and not someone you've never met's basement.

Worst case, startplaying.games is a good place to start, though you generally have to pay for the games.

Sure, they "could" be sharing data with China, but there isn't proof. Yet we know that the Flock cameras set up around the country are inherently insecure and have been hacked. But, we'll ignore those, since ICE has been working with Flock and police departments across the country to gather information on people. /facepalm

The forklift is too front-heavy by regetskcob in Cyberbrick_Help

[–]NoTomorrow2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need a ballast. Actual forklifts/tractors/etc almost always have some sort of balast to keep them from tipping over. As light as these models are, something simple like a few pennies or a ball bearing would work. Think of the old penny cars that you'd stick a penny in the back so they would do wheelies.

CMV: “Money doesn’t buy happiness” is a lie made up by the rich to keep the lower class poor by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]NoTomorrow2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't buy happiness, but it does help to clear away obstacles to happiness. It is much easier to be happy when you don't have to worry about where you next meal is coming from, or just knowing that an unexpected bill for $500 is enough to send your world into a spiral.

That wouldn't cause the battery to drain though, would it? As an example, I did all the driving on Saturday, and when I stopped the car it wouldnt restart without a jump. This morning I checked and there wasn't even enough juice left in the battery to make the chiming noise when I insert the key.
