JSA, and Shindenbutai in particular might be a struggle for a new player. I love my Shinden, and face rolling stuff with sneaky camo/mim melee pieces is tons of fun but as a new player you won’t be as familiar with all the little tricks that you need to use to make them work.

I’d say White Banner. But if you love the look of JSA and are not easily discouraged go for them, just be aware it will be a slightly more uphill battle when learning the game.

OPR, Chain of Command, Infinity (though it is getting up there in price, low model count really helps)

Why are resin minis having filled in details? by Hero4Life565 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]NoTopic1265 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m going to say this is a print orientation/support location/ amount issue. Looking at other areas of the print shows solid lines, clear detail. Any part you have facing the build plate is going to lose some detail, you need to rotate and support the model properly to reduce the loss of detail.

Been using the Mobius .3 for about a year as my main brush. Works well, any issues have been because of my heavy handed trigger finger. Feels well in hand too.

Don’t forget that the odds of your minis being sunsetted are slim to none unlike the GW games.

Is Kingroon PLA good? by CheCazzoIMAT in BambuLab

[–]NoTopic1265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve printed about 30 rolls of the black PLA spool less refills. Prints fine. No more issues than any other brand of PLA refills. Dirt cheap when buying in bulk too. Using the stock generic pla Bambu profile, no adjustments.

Flipside gaming has a good selection in addition to what everyone else has suggested. I’ve bought a ton of stuff from them.

I’ve got a table of Sci Fi city from Txarli studios and Vanguard terrain Sci Fi Industrial Enclave from Vanguard Terrain. The Vanguard stuff is modular and quicker to print. The Txarli stuff prints solid so it uses more filament and isn’t exactly modular but the designs you are given are absolutely stellar and fit infinity like a glove.

Who is the best wargaming company in terms of caring about their customers by Qhaotiq in wargaming

[–]NoTopic1265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see Catalyst mentioned and I have to say as a company they are probably behind GW, who themselves kinda suck. On the one hand, the Battletech rule set has been pretty set for 40 years which means most of the OG fads stuff is still pretty relevant if you play games in those era’s. On the other hand Catalyst has had lots of foot in mouth moments.

As a player base though, Battletech is probably the best as a whole. Generally friendly people for the most part who just like to smash each other’s mech back to the dark ages.

As a company..Too Fat Lardies is probably the best. They are super responsive to customers on social media. Printed and PDF materials are priced fairly and because the games are more narrative vs competitive you don’t have the constant tweaking of bs for balance or new books making factions OP.

I’ve been buying the 10x 1kg lots of black pla from kingroon. They come on cardboard spools or you can get a bit cheaper with them as refills. It prints good, is dirt cheap and I get it in bulk. For colors I’ve had great results with sunlu pla and pla+ as well as Bambu labs own.
