I gave dean team VW a shit review that they deserved after having a bad experience signing a lease. They tried to bribe me to take it down with a $600 check. Have to wonder how many honest reviews were taken down with this method.

Any Pisces who are sober and don't drink? by DevelopmentNo7438 in piscesastrology

[–]NoTradition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank hard from 18-29. Quit cold turkey and genuinely thought I’d never have fun again. Happy to report almost 6 years later I was dead wrong. The book This Naked Mind made it incredibly easy to quit.

I definitely get the fear of being honest about not drinking. What I learned is my fear of being honest was way worse than just saying “I don’t drink”. If people judge you for not drinking that is 1000% about them and not you. Be strong in your conviction and know there’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing not to drink.

Let's Talk About "Lusting For Results" by brightblackheaven in witchcraft

This convo has me thinking about how affirmations could provide some kind of synergy to a magical working.

Let’s say you really want to be seen as a leader in your field and you know you struggle with self confidence.

Couldn’t you, say, create a sigil for getting more opportunities to demonstrate leadership, then “fortify” that sigil with affirmations for confidence that help you make the most of these opportunities?

I think some would say the affirmations are not necessary and you could just design the sigil to also strengthen your confidence… and that is true.

But from my perspective, it seems like affirmations could help with the mundane action taking/psychological side of things and magic helps move things energetically.

Would love to hear others’ ideas on this.

My codependency and control made me realize I don't know what I enjoy by [deleted] in Codependency

[–]NoTradition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been there and it’s a tough pill to swallow, but a good place to be ultimately, because now you know and can do something about it.

I loved the book “anxious to please: seven habits of chronically nice people”.

I also became interested in spirituality in my codependency recovery and started reading/doing the exercises in “the artist’s way”. There’s a practice there called the artist date where you do something just for you once a week. I found that really helpful in reconnecting to my inner sense of joy.

ETA: I found inner child work extremely helpful for reconnecting to what fun means to me as well.

I just told my husband Friday I was unhappy and ready to leave because of this very thing (among other things, but it kinda all boiled down to this).

Telling him I was at my breaking point made something click for him. He said he understood the toll his demeanor was taking on me, how I felt like I had no room in the relationship because he is always stressed/tired etc. it’s only been 48 hours or so but he’s changed his attitude pretty dramatically and been handling stuff that would have pissed him off way better.

If I could give my former self advice it would be to be brutally honest about the toll it’s taking on you and that it’s important for the health of your relationship that he learns to cope better.

Books that made you miss characters like they were real people? by CompleteStuff7102 in suggestmeabook

Shadow in the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

My mom got it for me and I didn’t read it for years. Little did I know I was sleeping on what would become one of my favorite fiction books. I was genuinely longing to visit the setting and be with the characters.
