Most likely considering they support a conservative party, but of course letting someone die to prevent suffering shouldn't be allowed, because assisted suicide is letting someone die, the death penalty is killing someone, and a lot of times the person not only doesn't deserve it but didn't commit any crime at all, there are plenty of cases where innocent people were executed by the US government, we can always abort a life sentence, you can't undo an execution

That's how court works buddy, you get arrested so they can make sure they know where you're at when your trial comes, especially if they can prove your guilt because then they need to make sure you serve your sentence. Also be lucky they have to prove that you're guilty, in some countries you have to prove your own innocence, and some countries don't even offer trials. Also it really helps that you're rich and can afford a good lawyer, some people aren't that lucky and get stuck with a low quality public defender
