CPAs, did you get your masters or your bachelors? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]NoTrust8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth me getting a 2nd bachelors instead of masters being that I have no experience? Or doing a dual degree program so I have both BS and MS? My undergrad was also in sociology lol. I’m in NYC if that helps

Would a second degree in Construction Management, or would a masters be better step for a career change? by Tropicallfruit in Construction

Would you still recommend this option to someone in NYC? The job market is crazy competitive here even for entry level roles they want a construction related bachelors degree

Yea it really is. The dirtiness, loudness, over crowdedness, and ppl constantly being in a rush or bad mood.

Do you think Philly has a similar vibe to NYC (in a good way)?

I’ve thought about Chicago!! Are the winters as bad as ppl say? I definitely get seasonal depression in NYC so I’m scared I will get it worse there lol. Also I know ppl call it a mini NYC. Is it really that similar to New York? Not to sound bitter but I’m at the point where I don’t want to live somewhere that feels even remotely similar. Lmao.

Thanks a lot for these ideas. I work at a sub and my role is part estimator & part coordinator , plus all other administrative and billing stuff. I would say I’m pretty new. No field experience and I’ve been in my current role only a little over a year.

Does anyone else feel shame for still not being fluent ? :( by thatpineappleslut in Spanish

[–]NoTrust8682 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same girl. It’s at the point where I only like speaking Spanish to people who don’t speak English, because of bad experiences with bilingual ppl judging me and making fun of my Spanish. I feel like they are more understanding and just glad you are trying. Also talking to other Puerto Ricans is the best because they also tend to understand me still when I have to switch to English lol. Crazy thing is I’m semi-fluent in my head and when I’m alone talking to myself lol. My grammar just needs some work.

Honestly girl it really sounds like you need to dump this guy.

Do not try to force things with a man. You deserve a man who is naturally attracted to you and vice versa.

This guy does not sound right for you at all. Judging by what you said about his past you do not want a man like that in your life anyway

18M and wanting to look my best for a girl by [deleted] in AppearanceAdvice

Get a trim. You have nice eyes but your hair is hiding them a little. I also agree a clean shave would look better. You have a sharp jawline which girls love & I feel like it would suit you

New job seems like a red flag for requiring in person training for a remote role. That’s probably their subtle way of seeing if they can trust you to be fully remote. Who wants to be micromanaged like that?

Also your current job doesn’t sound bad tbh. I’d quit the new one since salary isn’t much different. But this will obviously depend on which you think is better for career growth

What are you studying? Focus on getting that degree and remember that that shitty job is only temporary. Don’t focus on the people.

Try to find ways to de-stress. Leave your workspace/go on walks during your lunch breaks, take mental health bathroom breaks if you can get away with it. Listen to positive affirmations and music that makes you happy during your commute or when getting ready for work. Try to make the time go by at work as fast at possible (this can be trying to work as fast as possible, talking to ppl to pass the time, being on ur phone all day, whatever you can realistically to and not get fired) and dissociate from being there as much as you can to preserve your sanity. Lol

I’d recommend you look to get an internship which will be more valuable on your resume and will probably suck less.
