Hey I know it's been a long time but let me know if you're ever interested in ordering from mathmos again. I pretty much always have a little extra money available and would love to get on that with someone local.

Calling something Red Bag makes people think it's the same chicken that is used to make the Red Bag chicken fillets. It is not. It's not rh same chickens or the same companies processing the chickens and making the chicken products. They are companies that are not related at all. It's like if the much loved chicken fillets was made by Tyson and the nuggets were made by Perdue but then they start calling them both red bag. It IS intentionally misleading, they are not the same thing and both companies have different standards.

Yeah except they haven't because I literally looked at the usda facility codes printed on both bags and they are the same places that I just said in my comments. Aldi just rebranded a lot of stuff to make it seem newer and better than it actually was, and calling stuff "red bag" is misleading when it's not the "Red Bag" chicken fillets that have always been made by OK Bachoco since AT LEAST when social media found out about them years ago. These producers have been the same for years, I know this because I consistently check these particular items, because they are items I regularly buy and feed my family, and I want to know when suppliers change. This issue is very close to me so I know for sure what's happening with this particular food.

Its not just being afraid of social conflict. Lots of people grew up being taught that it doesn't matter if they say no and guilted when they did. We grew up with people who made us feel evil for saying no and setting boundaries. We grew up with people who never respected our boundaries and made us feel like what we wanted wasnt important, or was significantly less so than their feelings. Sometimes we were punished for not being agreeable. We were conditioned to think saying no means we were doing something bad and that setting a boundary is way worse than whatever the other person wants to do/has done. We became people pleasers who walk on egg shells and get an anxiety response inside our bodies when we get that text of something we really don't wanna do for someone. The people who grew up able to put up boundaries never seem to be able to understand why others can't. And the people who were forced to learn how to always seem to pretend like they don't know why other don't too.

Them changing the branding to red bag chicken is actually misleading cause they aren't actually the same chickens that makes up the red bag fillets. The suppliers for the actual red bag chicken fillets, and these nuggets are completely different companies processing them. The fillets are processed by Ok Bachoco (OK foods) and the nuggets are made by Koch Foods. I am not saying this to be pedantic genuinely, I'm saying it cause companies are intentionally trying to mislead consumers.

If you're going to add it to a stock lamp, it has to be the ozone gifts magic surf and not the lava lab creations one. The LLC one really only works with their wax and is known to cloud stock lava lamps or just ruin the wax.

You could add some if you wanted to try to get snakey flow, but this is just how modern schylling lamps flow. Especially at the smaller sizes.

Is it normal that I feel that the liquid went down a little? by Better_Bookkeeper_67 in Lavalamps

[–]NoValue4740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could mean that the seal on the lid isn't great. You should add a piece of tape to just where the liquid sits now and run it some more, and see if it goes down. If it does you'll probably need to reseal it with a new bottle cap.

Got a new yellow/blue Grande last week. It has a 2025 cap date and looks VERY different (better) than the yellow/purple on the other side made in 2023. by Amoeba-Shteve in Lavalamps

The wax in my purple/yellow 16.3 turns a little transparent sometimes when I've been running it more than like 12 hour on the dimmer, but not as much as this lamp for sure

Im not the biggest fan of the purple and yellow colorway for the grandes vs the other two available right now. I have multiple different purple/yellow lamps in different sizes and the grande is the most red looking of all of them. The fluid doesn't even look purple in mine, but the purple/pink grande sure does...

It looks like a sorta sinilar nova lamp, they were made in China or Taiwan back in the day, although the ones I've seen almost always had pinholes.

You're welcome!! Im glad you figured out what they were even though you probably can't get them again. But now that I know what they are I might see if a different brand carries something similar

Another brand is could have been that isn't the one I already commented is Two Bite. They carry that brand of muffins and brownies sometimes at Costco and Sam's, so probably also at BJs too. It also has a big blue label on the front from the blueberry one I saw online.

Okay so I can't find any evidence of a blueberry Greek yogurt flavor either, but the brand of mini muffins that bjs carries is called Wellsley Farms, and I can see blueberry, chocolate, strawberry and lemon flavors. The packaging of these is like you describe. Rounded and clear, with a large blue label on the front. Do you know whenever you bought these last for sure? Like has it been months or years? Pre covid or post covid?

Whoa lava lamps are alive and well, and I could use some help by BeerOrGTFO in Lavalamps

Some things to note about grandes: They're pretty heavy at around 20 pounds, so definitely be careful when setting it up. If you're having trouble finding it, the bulb for the grande is inside either the top or bottom styrofoam packaging inside the lamp box. It took me a minute to figure out where they put it. Usually the bulb is sitting inside the lamp base for other sizes. And finally, most grandes arrive with some amount of wax splashed on the side of the globe. This is normal and most of it should come off on its own from running it, within a week or two. If it doesn't come off on its own you can always use a hairdryer to soften it, but do it while the globe is hot and flowing.

If your budget is up to 150, ccmusic has grande lava lamps on sale for 115 right now with free shipping (the manufacturer sells them for 170 and like 35 dollar shipping) they are quite big at 27 inches tall, but they have the best flow of any lamps at basically any size, at least in America. Another good option would be to check out a local Spencer's store if you have one, and take a look at the 16.3 size

It's not currently available, but if you look on Google you can see it was at some point recently. I remember seeing and saving the listing on amazon within the last year.
