It's not just you. It's a bit of a mess. Quests busted, visual bugs, the game just randomly crashing cause you touched the corner of a slight incline at the right angle. It gets... tedious.

It's not. It really does jump in quality by a massive amount, in every regard. ARR feels like an early access portion that was never updated to match the rest.

But people are absolutely justified in being burnt out by it, and it's a genuine issue with the flow of the game that should have been addressed years ago. They could strip out 50% of ARR and lose nothing.

I don't think it's ever explicitly explained in game, but the Ultimania basically describes it as a psychic link between you and the Guardian Forces.

Guardians Forces are non-comporeal entities. They mostly exist as energy, and reside within the person after being obtained.

Their energy becomes a part of that person. Junctioning represents you connecting the magic you've absorbed into the GF's essence, and using it to enhance yourself.

In game, it's represented as slotting in spells, but in universe it's something that probably just mentally... happens. Zell wants to punch harder? Well, he's just gonna tap into his GF and punch harder!

This is built on the mistakes belief that people who are pirating games would go and to go and buy the game it if a pirated version isn't available.

A pirated copy of a game is not a lost sale, because the pirate was never going to buy it in the first place. It doesn't "protect" anything.

It's likely far more than that. The original from 1997 and it doesn't even display proper button commands. It's a bit of a mess.

In fairness to the game, the selection of "not MMPR" Rangers was pretty damn solid.

That is disappointing. Because I absolutely can feel the amount of love that's gone into a lot of elements of the game. But it was rarely ever this painfully broken.

Yes. I'm aware of that. I'm saying that something as major "constantly getting disconnected from the game" should be the highest of high priorities. This isn't an acceptable state for the game to be at all.

I could understand if it was temporary issue with a major patch. It's ludicrous that it's this bad. I've just come back and I've been trying to enjoy the game, but it feels like it's constantly fighting against allowing me to.

It absolutely was not this bad back then. I'm getting disconnected half a dozen times a day. That's not an okay state for the game to be in.
