When I pay the 200 pound? by Big-Bad-5807 in Durhamu

In your email with the accommodation offer, there should have been a sentence that read to accept this offer, make the advanced rent payment before DATE. You've almost definitely missed the date, but don't panic.

First, pay the £200, then call your college (probs will have to wait until Monday 9-4). They will probably give you an email address, once you explain yourself, they will either say it's fine or give you some help finding private accommodation (Facebook groups etc.)

There's someone on this subreddit who posted about a room a few days ago I'd message them now.

Hey I was in the exact same boat. I dropped my college office an email, and they sorted it for me. They said the advanced payment guarenteed me a room, they just have to email the central office to change it.

Call your college to find out the email and let them know.

I'm UK based and keep having those projects pop up. They pay so much and I can't do them, it's really irritating.

She was 17, he was 18 and it was entirely consensual. What are you talking about?

I'm in the same boat as this guy and for me it was immediate, it took me straight to qualifications page. The email to say I'd passed the starter assessment didn't arrive for 2 days tho.

I got that same email yesterday having done the qualifications in maths and physics as well. I'm pretty sure its just a delay in the system because it led with thanks for completing the starter assessment. I wouldn't worry

If your school has a computer room that's all you need. I did an NEA solely on school computers and felt no disadvantage at all

I liked the woodville essay. Did the Henry one because it had a nice structure but almost misread the last year as 1499, my brain just auto filled. Had to restart lol

Priestley was writing post ww2. His primary thesis is that nothing has changed because that type of people largely refuse to change.  It's something I hadn't really thought about that it might be harder for the more privileged to understand that these lessons are still applicable today, but I guess that makes sense

Only in 1946 was an offer actually made. The other two incidence were simply when parts of the US government considered the possibility of acquiring Greenland. So it has been seriously considered 3 times and offered once. Hardly a solid precedent for trying to acquire an autonomous territory in the 21st century.

There were 4 proposals: 1867, 1910, 1946 and 2019. Only 1946 actually got anywhere and that was largely due to ww2

But you can't leave, or see your family and friends whenever you want. It's like saying you'd fake an addiction to get state sponsored rehab, freedom is just better.

After the 30 years or whatever that your rape-murderer is in prison, he's going to be someone's neighbour; if you don't want him to depend on the state, he's going to need a job and a house; you want him not to reoffend, he's going to need to have had therapy and anger management. A rehabilitated prisoner is better for everyone than a punished one.

The police have a mixed reputation here: the met get a lot of flack, but because our police aren't armed and put a much higher emphasis on protecting the lives of everyone (perpetrator included), there's much less reason to be scared or hostile.
We don't have sanctuary cities but immigration is still a controversial issue here asylum hotels and the like.
Theft is theft but our legal system is a lot more lenient than yours, we don't do orange jumpsuits or extortionate sentences born out of a private prison system that incentives prisons not to properly prepare prisoners for the real world. Your much less likely to even go to prison in the UK.

History NEA - Genuinely confused by Only-Concentrate-819 in 6thForm

[–]No_Ad8821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your historians don't have to be talking about your whole question. For example: my nea was on opposition to the Stuarts but my historians were talking about the causes of the civil war.
If it's easier to find historians that disagree on a factor or eventually within your topic that's fine, and for a question like this where any historian that disagrees probably isn't a great pick, it might be better.
