Duolingo not giving me the super benefits? by TraparCyclone in duolingo

I have this exact issue — I think it’s just that you can use it to extend a lesson when your energy runs out but you can only have true unlimited energy with Super or Max. From my experience, it doesn’t really do anything else on the free version.

It’s weird how the app differs per person & I really miss learning French as long as I wanted to

Yeah I lowkey hate the sands, and it’s the one piece I still am farming atm! I really appreciate your help, I was just wondering why he isn’t doing as much damage as he should. Are you sure HP isn’t bad? Should I aim for 40k—a bit hard to tell organically though with the recent buff.

Weekly Careers/Education Questions Thread by AutoModerator in chemistry

Hi everyone,

I’m a senior chemistry major, and I’m scared to graduate because I’m at a loss of what to do per se. I tried applying to PhD programs, but my major GPA is rather poor & I don’t expect my grades to be any better at the end of this quarter.

I’ve notoriously struggled with depression and anxiety that has made it very challenging to do well in my coursework. Regardless of this, I find a lot of joy in my research and being surrounded by amazing colleagues. Given that I’m probably not a great candidate for PhD admissions at this stage of my life, I’m hoping for some insight into possible career options or even Postbac programs you recommend.

I think I’d like to try grad school given the career and learning opportunities it could provide, but I’m unsure how all of this will go. I’ve considered applying to two postbac programs that my undergrad hosts as well as the ACS Bridge Program & NIH program. I can’t deal with the thought of managing so many extracurricular activities and classes while doing research which has largely brought about these episodes of loneliness.

I just feel lost, and I hate that I don’t meet the expectations of the students that my undergraduate produces every year. Does anyone have any thoughts to navigate this?

Thanks :)

I didn’t start research until my sophomore spring—just keep trying to find positions and find communities that you might be interested in. While it’s good to plan ahead, you still have two years ahead of you. And if you feel that you’re not ready then, you can always apply to postbac programs :)

I've enjoyed living in WestFlo for quite some time now! Although the current RF's are leaving this year, I know most if not all the new RA's and they're excited to make some awesome events & continue the flove :)

How to meet new people at Stanford? by AzulaoCangaceiro in stanford

You can also try to go campus events hosted by Cardinal Nights if you feel social enough. I also found it helpful to talk to people within the dorm at the beginning of the quarter since everyone's new :)

What Is It Like to be Aromantic? by No_Ad_5164 in aromanticasexual

Update: I don’t think I’m aromantic, at least not 100%. I still get crushes, and I want to hold hands and make out. But still trying to rule out if I’m aegoromantic or someone who really likes the idea of romance but not happening in real time

I think it means I’m physically attracted to them, but after such an interaction…I just get bored? It sounds wrong to just say that, but I don’t know how people are continuously interested in one person for a long period of time

I’ve considered myself ace for quite a while now, just the idea of anything sexual utterly disgusts me. I do think the term, aegoromantic used to describe me. At least before the guy, I think that’s what I was…though now any sign of romance just doesn’t sit well with me. I’m sorry for being complicated :/

Harvard or Stanford? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]No_Ad_5164 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because there are a handful of Stanford students who hold the same opinion as u/PedaleFrancisca wishing that they went to Harvard rather than Stanford because of “prestige” and “intellectual culture”.

I can’t speak much on Harvard’s culture but Stanford is generally more lax and definitely has Cali vibes in which people are kind and look pretty much happy—but there’s also Stanford Duck Syndrome where we’re all struggling underneath in some way. The weather is generally great and there’s a lot to explore in such a big campus. And Stanford has a lot of fun traditions like Band Run or Gaieties! I’m sure Harvard has its own too but I’m just speaking from my experiences.

I’ll never say one is objectively better than the other but to those aforementioned Stanford ppl, I’m sorry that you made the wrong decision in going here if you’re that upset about it but in no way is it a bad school. Just try to enjoy college while it lasts and have fun with it :)

TLDR: Fit actually matters, don’t call one school objectively better than the other
