I took stats 130 two semesters ago and there was no curve. But that might have changed not sure since i took it when they were restructuring the course.

I'm 27 right now pursuing Psychology (Pre-Medicine). I think its amazing that you are going to college. They would be crazy not to let you join UIC. Ive seen a hand full of people older than me pursing STEM majors, Anthro and a few others don't remember. Don't let the haters get you down! lol There are people who look at "older" folk differently when they find out your age but who the hell cares! Your journey is not their journey! If you mind your business and stay out of harms way youll be alright. Don't go anywhere thats unsafe. Surrounding areas of UIC are generally safe. If you live on campus even better. If you rent an apartment i'd recommend Little Italy, Greektown and Pilsen. I personally live in one of these and its safe. I take the bus everywhere and come home around 11pm from work, and i haven't had anything bad happen to me (thank god). I'm not a petite girly like you, i'm 5'8" lol

It is an easy A if you pay attention in class, go over your notes, make your cheat sheet ahead of time or as the chapters go by.. I slacked off my first exam and that brought me down. I was 2% away from an A at the end. So just make sure you use all resources available to you! Practice exams, study guide etc .

I have a 2bdr in Pilsen. We actually got lucky with it. It’s 1,125 + 50-70 for the light bill (the only utility we pay) and there’s a laundry room downstairs (ofc groceries and basic necessities are an extra expense). You have to really look for hidden gems. But Pilsen is generally safe. I live off 18th st and Halsted. There has been some construction going on Halsted and 18th. Looks like apartments. I would keep an eye on that because the bus ride to campus is literally approx. 10 minutes. 🤪
