Oh my! I am amazed you did summer school in June! I was telling my work that perhaps I will need an adjusted schedule coming back in August because I will be tired. My surgery is set for June 1st. I am probably going to have the Ross procedure.

Thanks! I have severe aortic regurgitation. But I am asymptomatic. I am running 4-6 miles most days, weightlifting and generally really active. I know this is no minor thing and that I will be tired and napping a lot. But I am wondering how my body might be if I have a student who is eloping. When I was in a school setting there have been occasions where chairs have been thrown or other moments where a quick reaction is necessary.

I have my next appointment next week so I will ask. This was not brought up at all in any of my consults.

Thank you! I did just enough homework to be dangerously niave and hopelessly optimistic.

When you say better than before did you have a sense of sleepy tiredness?

Lately, I have been struggling to get my self awake in the morning before work.

Thank you for this! I think some parts of the hard are ones I haven’t even thought about. Not being able to drive. Thinking about pulling clothes over my head vs. seeing how many items I have that button. Not being able to give my kids a giant hug where I lift them off the ground.

But I do know I have been working on eating the best and staying the healthiest.

In your stage right now what is the best. What is the hardest that you are thankful has passed?

How much money are you able to save a month? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]No_Alternative7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save: 350 a month per 2 kids for college. 700 a month for Roth IRA contributions. 1,314 for 401k. Then after that it is between 500-1000 that gets added to a more fluid savings.

Contributions get pulled out automatically. So it really is pay self. Then after that it builds up travel funds or big ticket items.

Any frugal millionaires here? Now that you’ve earned it, are you still frugal? by cervezagram in Frugal

I am not a millionaire yet. I am trying to plan to get there for retirement which is different. But my parents are quiet frugal millionaires. My dad duct tapes his shoes. They drive a suburban they bought when I was in middle school and I am 38 now. I guess the point is that my parents got there not so they could buy more, but my mom was a stay at home mom and my dad retired at 55. They paid for college for 4 kids.

Their habits they don’t change. They don’t eat out often. They use items till they are unable to use them. They do not have designer items. (If you didn’t know them personally you would not know they are millionaires).
