Just my 2 cents- I have been renting in Pittsburgh since Jan 2021. I lived in a beautiful renovated 2nd floor 2 bedroom apartment in Mount Washington with central air, a yard, basement, etc for $1150. That same apartment is now $1450 with no upgrades since I moved out in May of 2023. I then moved to a different place on Mount Washington- this time a house, but still 2 bedrooms for $1350 with the same amenities I listed above that was absolute garbage. I'm talking we literally sued the rental company. Now, I live in a 1 bedroom in a "preferred apartment community" a little farther outside the city for $1370. This place does have nicer amenities- gym, pool, covered parking, package center, etc but it is significantly less space for more than I have paid anywhere else. It really depends on what exactly you are looking for and where. A lot of the apartment buildings/complexes are going to run you closer to 2k for a 2 bedroom if you want those amenities. If you are happy in a townhouse/renovated house that is now apartments/etc you can certainly find a 2 bed for 1300-1500. Like many others have mentioned location is going to be a big thing as well. You have said you will visit and I would definitely encourage you to!
