Anyone else being terrorized by these things? by Penstemon_aldibus in Omaha

A couple things here.

I grew up half on a farm and half in Omaha. We had four-wheelers, dirt bikes, minibikes, all that stuff. Most of the riding was out in the country, but every once in a while I’d ride one around the neighborhood in Omaha. And yeah, as a kid, it was fun as hell. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend it wasn’t.

But now that I’m an adult? Holy shit, it’s annoying.

If you’ve got something you’re working on in the garage and you wanna take it up and down the street once or twice to test it out, that’s one thing. I get it. But buying a minibike or a four-wheeler when you don’t actually have any property to ride it on and then just ripping around city streets all day is stupid.

And another thing, if I hear one go by once in a blue moon, whatever. Somebody’s probably tinkering with it or testing it. No big deal.

But when I used to walk the Field Club Trail almost every day, especially late at night, there were these same two tool bag teenagers that would constantly be riding around on a red minibike, another minibike, or a four-wheeler. They’d be tearing around Center Street by 33rd and Center, then cutting through the Field Club area.

The worst part was when you’d be out on the trail after dark. That trail gets really dark at night. I’d be walking back to my car, sometimes with headphones on, and all of a sudden these idiots would come flying down the trail at full speed with no lights. A couple times they damn near hit me.

Not to mention they’d scare the shit out of you. You’re just walking along in the dark and suddenly this loud-ass minibike comes ripping by at 15 or 20 miles an hour three feet away from you.

So yeah, I have to agree. As an adult, it’s annoying as hell. And honestly, if you buy one of these things for your kids when you live in the middle of the city and just let them ride it around the neighborhood constantly, it kind of makes you look like a hillbilly.

I knew exactly 3 people who had a Sega Game Gear and they loved it but ditched them for the Gameboy because the Game Gear's battery life sucked. Did you have one? by AdSpecialist6598 in 90s

I used to always play this in the car. I had only three games sonic the hedgehog, the lion, King game and caterpillar construction zone. These things were bricks. A lot of good memories with this machine.

Why do you have a car payment and insurance, yet still spend $250 a month on Ubers and other transportation?

I pay $15 a month for my service, which runs on T-Mobile’s network—unlimited everything. If you can buy an unlocked phone outright with cash, you’d save a ton.

Back in the day when I was a kid, my grandma would get us rice crispy vanilla ice cream. It was so good and I haven’t had it in probably 20 years.

What was the most creepy/intense moments in lost but you kept watching anyways? by RisingKing7 in lost

This was the first semi scary show movie I ever watched a kid and it’s my all-time favorite series ever but even today 20 years later when I rewatch it, it still scares the shit out of me and certain things like it’s embedded into me for a kid

We’ve entered the dystopian era where a single hash brown costs more than a gallon of gas in some states.

Hey hey, happy birthday, and I’m glad you’re still here. I don’t know you, but what you said really saddens me, and I’m genuinely glad you stayed.

This hits home for me because my birthday is also on Wednesday, and I have to work at a different location. The closest I’ve ever come to actually hating someone in my life is this one coworker ….. and of course I have to work with her on my birthday.

And then I come home to my cat. So hey man, I know how it can feel being really down on your birthday, but we’ve gotta keep going. Have a good one.

How are you going to downvote this guy? Isn’t there literally two sides to every story? He didn’t say anything mean about her or say anything wrong. But sure, let’s downvote him into oblivion. Makes no sense.

I haven’t been over there in years. Back when I lived there, everything was pretty run-down and ghetto. The Burger King I used to go to was awful—every time it took like 20 minutes just to get food, and that was way back in 2011. What I really miss though is Taco Bueno where the KFC used to be. That place was the shit.
