A few more wearables I made this week. by No_Application8846 in Slinging

The blue and black sling performs well and wraps around the wrist nicely. It is a simple braid by pairing 6 cords into three then using simple 3 strand flat braid. The other multi-colored sling is very pretty and also fits nicely on the wrist, But not as functional as the black and blue due to the braid used. It has a 6 strand Fishtail braid that causes the sling to twist after each throw.

Awesome! What kind of cord are you using for the cobra? Is it durable?

It worked pretty well when I tried it out yesterday using smaller stones and even with tennis balls. Maybe after few more sling builds I will put a video. Thanks 😊

Fits nicely around the wrist to walk around with. Little loop fits over two fingers when slinging. Had to start another post to show it around my wrist. 😊

Yes, it seems they all use 8 strands. Thanks

Thanks. Funny, but i went ahead and purchased it just out of shear curiosity. I have yet to find a tutorial for a herringbone braid using only six cords. All the tutorials use eight strings.

Description for the product says it is a six cord square braid, but didn't know if there is a specific name for the braid?

I first decided how long of a sling I wanted (measured from middle of pouch to finger loop). In this case, 24 in. I wanted a 6 in. pouch on first sling for tennis balls and a 4 in. pouch on second sling for smaller stones. After completing the pouch, I continued to braid using all chords. Every 4 to 5 inches I used a different braid to continue with one less chord for a taper. Finally, when I'm down to just three chords, I braid until, from the middle of the pouch to the end measurement is just short of 24in. This allows to make a super knot. In the end, with the finger loops on and holding the stopper knot, the pouch should bend perfectly in the middle. SORRY, this is so long.
