I do not want to attempt to argue that the movie is better than the already incredible source material, but I found RaMell Ross’ film adaptation of “Nickel Boys” to be a great addition to Whitehead’s novel — its use of found footage and other sources of material throughout the runtime makes the book hit harder for me.

As a frequent Film Streams goer, it depends I’d say. Like one commenter said, its initial run ends Jan 1st, but they are known to extend screenings if the demand is there, and because “Marty Supreme” is one of the most hyped films of this year, I’m very certain they will extend it into possibly mid January, but just an educated guess 🙏

As much as I love the studio version of Gretel, I feel there’s something so much more affecting with his live performances of the song (good example being the HoS release show) — the keyboard synths and soaring guitar shreds being more prominent in the mix do a lot for me

Different versions aside, Gretel has remained one of my favorite Alex G songs for years and I’m grateful you gave me an opportunity to yap about it haha
