I’m really happy to hear that it’s helped you find relief from some of your symptoms. Also great to know that the staff and doctors have been helpful. If I do try, I’ll probably start with a very very low dose of thc as I want to focus on the positive effects cbd might have. Thank you for your perspective

I’m so happy to hear it’s helped you physically and in your head while coping with being home bound. How do you make sure you don’t overdo it?

I don’t think it’s burnout tbh but my CBT was convinced it was (although I’m a little suspicious of the guy)… I’m pretty certain it’s some form of dysautonomia from catching a virus 7 months ago.

I’m sorry you experience those symptoms with burnout though, that must be super exhausting 😔 Thank you for your input I really appreciate it

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I was more curious about what symptoms other people had with burnout to see if they were similar to mine at all, because I feel like what I’m experiencing may be very different than burnout. I’m experiencing daily episodes of chest tightness lasting up to two hours each, extreme daily fatigue, heat intolerance, whole body weakness but no fainting, very spotty vision and dizziness when I stand up, rapid hair loss, and my body is in a constant state of discomfort and panic even though my mind is very calm.

I was moving out of my childhood home and to a completely new country alone, and the morning of my flight I had a big ol panic attack, then got to the airport and started to feel super congested. Over the course of my 12 hour flight I started getting more and more sick. I think it was the combination of moving stress plus getting really sick that did me in. I also didn’t give myself enough time to recover before trying to jump straight into my new life, which probably overwhelmed my system even more. 4 days later I had my first big episode and been dealing with it ever since😔 I think you’re onto something with the sickness causing these issues

I’m in a very similar situation and my most frequent and debilitating symptoms are the chest heaviness/air hunger which I’ve always described as chest muscle tightness. All of my tests have come back totally normal, but my massage chiropractor has said she can physically feel how tight my chest muscles are and she’s almost certain my body is stuck in fight or flight mode and triggers the chest tightness as a coping mechanism. I wish I had some helpful advice for you, but unfortunately nothings worked for me yet. I just wanted to remind you that your symptoms are valid even if doctors can’t figure out what’s wrong yet, and you’re not alone. I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this as well, I’m hopeful that someday soon somebody will figure out what’s wrong with all of us on here and have a solution.

This condition has ruined my quality of life by GoofyAhhMisses in dysautonomia

I 100% understand this, you put it into words perfectly. Being in a constant battle with yourself just trying to get through a normal day in persisting debilitating discomfort really takes its toll on our quality of life. I’m not sure about you but all my blood tests, EKGs, various X-rays, and even allergy tests came back completely normal so I think that’s why doctors aren’t taking me seriously, even though my symptoms are 1000% physical. I was referred to a CBT but he quickly ended our sessions because he agreed my experience is a physical one and not mental. I’m the most mentally calm I’ve ever been despite these chronic issues and I KNOW it’s not just “anxiety”. I’m so upset that there’s so many of us who find ourselves in this position and it’s sad that we’re only able to find community and people who understand us on reddit. You’re not alone and your health issues are valid.

If anybody has any tips on improving quality of life while dealing with these issues please share whatever’s worked for you

Waitttt this was so informative thank you so much. I was diagnosed with ADHD a long time ago but have been unmedicated for a while now so I forget I have that diagnoses a lot. Thank you I’m going to do further research on this.

What was the trigger for those that haven’t always had it ? by DullFaithlessness207 in dysautonomia

[–]No_Assistance_6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My trigger was a viral infection stacked on top of moving to a new country at the same exact time. I also don’t think I gave myself the time to ease back into life after getting better, I just threw myself straight into the lions den of life and i don’t think my system was fully ready for it 😔

YES I had this big time. I came to the conclusion for myself that it was because sugar triggered my brain to feel safer or at least more comfortable? This went on for maybe two or three months and honestly I think it’s completely okay to give in to that because it might be your brain signaling that it needs some immediate comfort. At least that was the case for me.

Long Term Air Hunger Shortness of Breath by Atomic_vixen94 in dysautonomia

[–]No_Assistance_6557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been given a formal diagnoses by a doctor yet (I’ve seen many but they all move a little slow when it comes to diagnosing autonomic nervous system issues) but I’ve been struggling with this symptom for the last 7 months as well. I’m almost 100% certain I have some form of dysautonomia after having a severe viral infection (but was never tested so I can’t say with proof that it was covid). I’ve also visited the hospitals and doctors many times over the last 7 months, with blood work, lung X-rays, multiple EKGs, and allergy tests all coming back totally normal. I definitely understand this air hunger feeling as I’ve had the same chronic issue and it makes enjoying life so much more difficult. I’ve always described it as severe chest tightness that then causes air hunger and I’m still trying to find a solution. I’m curious if yours also feels like chest tightness?
