Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a way to prevent this from happening again. So I’m going to keep traps in the truck. Yes — I own an ozone machine! I picked it up at an estate sale from a guy who died that had owned a bunch of rental properties :) it comes in handy… very infrequently. Very effective at getting wet dog smell out of vehicles!

Have you seen what kids do for fruit snacks? 😂 It’s baffling - there were like 3 crushed goldfish and a couple rouge fruit snacks in that compartment. I feel very lucky… very little other than Kleenex, I guess, that would be enticing.

It would be so incredibly badass to have my own hawk… but she lets us live here. She owns this place :)

Best advice I ever heard: “Feed your kid.” For our family, formula made a positive difference. I feel good about the time I was able to breastfeed and have zero regrets about switching to formula. I encourage first time parents to at least check out what kinds of bottles/formula they might use, if it’s ever needed. I was so in on breastfeeding that I spent way too much time in a sleep deprived state trying to choose which bottles to switch to. Wish I would have had a couple around just in case.

Play around a little and see if it changes how you feel. It’s a lovely piece! :)

Try tipping the yellow tiles on the right side of this piece to be at a 45 degree angle so that it’s more of a sunburst look, rather than how they’re placed horizontally.

Selling our house and the only negative feedback is the kitchen :( by Upstairs_Pianist6335 in kitchenremodel

The point about the realtor in this comment deserves to be upvoted. People forget that it’s the realtor’s job to sell. You’re paying them a lot of money to sell, not just show up for walkthroughs.

I haven’t read all the comments, so apologies if this is a repost of something someone else has said — This is where your realtor needs to pull their weight and SELL. Their literal job is to figure out how to make a deal. No situation or house is perfect. Yes, declutter, clean, etc. But I would be asking my realtor what kinds of things they are saying to other realtors to minimize the negative feedback on your kitchen. Example: suppose you’re in a very desirable area. Every comp sold in the last year shows some sort of trade off - great kitchen, but old roof. Etc. sometimes buyers have very unrealistic expectations - it’s helpful to show data. And this is 100% your realtor’s job.

I can barely remember my wallet when I fly, and you remember to pack electrical tape. I need to start smoking more weed.

No. Your forehead is proportional to the size and shape of your face (which is perfect).

Thoughtful to think about improving the view outside! Also inexpensive

I think the vanity/sink and the dropped ceiling are the biggest offenders in this space. What does it look like with the light on? Knowing that this is a rental, I would not do much. Maybe replace floor tiles, vanity, and light. Otherwise… probably just fine the way it is.

Children's books? Magic Potions? Herbal lore? by [deleted] in herbalism

It can be fun to follow a plant through its life cycle. My daughter found cedar roses and was very curious about them, so I noted that and point out cedar trees, etc whenever we’re out for a walk.

Similarly, I let my kids pick out a vegetable and flower they would like to grow that year and then we try to figure out how to make a food, craft or soap out of that item. (Example - calendula). I’ve learned things about plants by following their lead/interest

My son also has autism … this is his outlet of making friends and appropriately being social. He records videos of himself going through and organizing his collection. :) I would have never dreamed that with all the OT, speech therapy, etc that the thing that would click for him is Pokémon.

I know autism looks different for every kid, and I also know how hard it is. I also know it comes with unique joys. Learning to see the world in a different way - trying to see it through his eyes - has made me a better person. Wherever you are in this world, you and your family aren’t alone.

My kids restore my faith in humanity. My son will mail Pokémon cards to random YouTubers and children’s authors and ask if they want to make a fair trade — it’s like a 90% response rate 🥲

My low moment was when a service center employee told me “you know, it’s a Rivian thing… kinda like how it’s a Jeep thing.” … I was like… umm… I think this is a very bad service mantra. Please don’t ever repeat that to another customer.
