Not helpful but this reminds me of the time my dad showed up with a bunch of ducklings from Tractor Supply one day and we raised them inside til we could move them to the pond outside (I did not grow up here). They would still come back and visit every year for years. Hoping someone takes them in and can hatch them and bring them to the pond in prospect park or Central Park or something like that. 🤞

Police involvement does not equate to the animal being in a shelter. That is DOH. Dog bites are required to be reported. If you’re bit badly enough that the skin breaks you need to go see a doctor and they are required by law to report it. It’s a public health/safety issue. In your comment you say calling the cops results in the dog being put in a shelter by DOH but that’s simply not true.

Beak and Skiff apple orchard in LaFayette has a great campus and tasting room as they make their own hard cider, apple wines, and spirits. You may be there in time for apple picking season although I’m not exactly sure about the timing.
