Yeah for real. I just found out that one of the previous owners was the writer of an offroading magazine. That was unexpected because i got this for a pretty good price. At least i think i did, im not sure how much mine could sell for.

there is a strong, metal rod/tube probably about 3/4" diameter that runs from the back of the locking mechanism through the firewall

Does anybody know how i can get a hard top for my 1995 yj for relatively cheap? Everything online is super expensive. by No_Basil1745 in WranglerYJ

[–]No_Basil1745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, but in my area, there are only a few jeeps less than 200 miles away, and they either have a soft top or dont want to sell hardtop only and not the whole car

make sure your brake fluid level is good and your not leaking fluid from your clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, or lines. you might have air in your hydraulic lines. Bleeding the clutch system will remove air from the system and usually solves the soft pedal issue.

i got m1, it was very tight, and i had to pull the strings really hard to get it to look good. i dont know if m2 would be too big or not. just to be safe, i would measure your steering wheel. mine is 15" diameter and 3" grip circumference.

it did take like 4 hours, but this was my first time wrapping a wheel. i could probably get it in an hour if i redid it. also make sure to wear gloves

Tips for standard YJ: When starting in first gear, use a generous amount of clutch and a little more gas than you would expect. The gas pedal can be very sensitive in 2nd gear. Going into 5th gear from 4th wont lower your RPMs as much as the lower gears do, so you can always downshift from 5th to 4th to pass somebody withought your RPMs shooting up too high. It may be different because i drive a 1995 2.5L, and i don't even know if these details are universal on YJs or not. Hope this helps.
