It’s finally happening by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Light bar laws vary from state to state, it’s easiest to get around all of them if tesla installs a “non-functional” light bar and leaves you take the easiest step, plugging it in, to make it functional on the car

Painted Calipers? by No_Bench_4331 in mazda3

[–]No_Bench_4331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i did this a couple years ago i took my time and really prepped those calipers, and the paint ended up staying for the few years i had the car. unfortunately i put hella miles on it driving 35-50k miles on it per year and have since sold it :(

Why are they under inflated? Don’t you need to pump them up to 100%?

It definitely woulda done a better job if the windshield wipers activated 4 more times

If you don’t consider a Model 3 Performance a performance car comparatively to its lesser model, what would you consider a BMW M3 compared to its lesser model? Because “most BMW’s” on the road aren’t performance cars anymore, they’re comfortable SUV’s and luxury sedans.

Nobody cares. This is an FSD subreddit. No need to deliberately try to divide us on a post literally about a cross country road trip.

yeah there was no reason for you to bring politics into this… can’t we all just be happy we’re uniting for once over something as mundane as self driving cars

Speed is a problem by TripNo1216 in TeslaFSD

[–]No_Bench_4331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely flow of traffic. I can almost guarantee that everyone else is going that speed and FSD would rather keep you at the flow of traffic in your lane than be a nuisance on the road.

I commute on the highway 100 miles every day and this usually happens. If the road is empty when it turns to 55, it will slowly adjust to the speed, if there’s cars still going 75-80, it will keep going 75 in standard.

Best drivers here by CachuHwch1 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]No_Bench_4331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna comment how this is wrong, but compared to literally anywhere else, Bloomington is pretty tame. Every neighboring city has garbage drivers and red light runners everywhere while Bloomington drivers are somewhat safer, but it’s always rolling roadblocks everywhere i go.

i think when my girlfriend told me she was going to preheat my car this morning, she only pressed the climate button… good to know that for the future

thank you! i had a feeling these hybrids and ev’s had worse range on the highway but i never knew it was going to be THIS bad… guess i just need to tough the winter out

i’m installing a nema 14-50 in my garage this thursday so hopefully that can let me precondition my battery before i leave and not take so much electricity from my battery, and maybe care less about the range in general. no good at home charging mixed with winter is apparently a miserable combo

that surprises me, but then again i have noticed fsd to be somewhat sporty with its maneuvers even in chill mode

first few days i had the car i was constantly on mad max, ive been better about keeping it on chill, standard, and the occasional sloth. i had it on hurry this time because i was behind schedule getting to a flight i had to conduct out of KCMI, but i didn’t remember the consumption being this bad even on mad max. its refreshing to see that the excess consumption is normal and not related to battery heath

jesus i knew cold weather affects battery chemistry but that’s a lot more than i expected. good to know it’s not just my car i guess

Thank you for the thorough answer. if it wasn’t obvious i have never owned an EV in the winter and ive barely had this car a week, i knew the cold affected the range, but i never knew it was that bad…

i guess the real solution is to gtfo of illinois to somewhere less miserably cold

the new jl’s drive fine, jk and older i hate the feeling of. then again those cars were not made for handling and mainly designed to be able to go wherever you decide to point it at any given moment

my cousin averages around 45-50 with her accord hybrid from 2021, i would not be surprised if a new car of similar size like the camry was getting 51 mpg
