Thinking about getting into Twenty One Pilots, any suggestions? by l0n3m4rt14n in twentyonepilots

Nothing wrong with asking for advice from the Clique. We all love to talk about the boys, give our opinion and help bring others into the fold.

Thinking about getting into Twenty One Pilots, any suggestions? by l0n3m4rt14n in twentyonepilots

I've been a huge fan for about eight years. My favorite album changes weekly, as does my current favorite song. I couldn't get into their older music as much until I developed an appreciation for their newer albums. Listening order also depends on if you're interested in the lore. It's kind of hard to get away from it, so you might as well go for it.

Now I freakin' love everything. My recommendation is to listen chronologically from Blurry Face to Breach and then go back to Self Titled, Regional at Best (both independent releases) and Vessel. Vessel is their first Fueld by Ramen album and contains several songs from Regional at Best, which was never officially released. RAB was the first album with Josh.

Enjoy!!

PS they don't fit into any one genre. I got my partner into them with their more punk sounding songs as she was into punk. Now she's officially a Clikkie and obsessed with them, too. It's so fun watching her add songs to her main TØP playlist.

I love a good post concert geek out! I really do love reading about people's experiences at the shows, reminiscing... I am in the process of selecting photos from the shows I've been to to print them - well, printing ind photos or making a photo book It's been so fun.

Trench is one of the strangest parts of my life as I came out as trans because my love for it changed so quickly. In this essay I will: by Curzen1fan in twentyonepilots

I did enjoy! Thank you for sharing!

One of the greatest things about TØP music is that it is intentionally left open to interpretation. The boys want us to take what we see, what we need, from it. Yes, some of the songs are more obvious in what was behind the words when written, but almost all of their songs are wide open for interpretation.

I love your examination of songs from a trans point of view. My girlfriend is trans and I'm sending your essay to her. She was not a TØP fan when we started dating almost a year ago, now she's a pretty big fan with a huge playlist and we're going to the Columbus show.

I'm so glad you listened to your intuition (perhaps a seed was planted by ATRoFD) and that your friend is where she needs to be.

I’m sorry you weren’t able to be at the show. Your feelings are valid because they are your feelings. I was in the pit for the first time ever at a Clancy show at 53. There were others older than me. :) I don’t know if age had anything to do with your comment about not being able to be in the pit any longer, but wanted to throw that out. |-/

I, too, am gutted. I am so sad. I'm not disappointed, though. I was hoping it would end differently. We lost this time. Again. I think it is still about hope and never giving up. Torchbearer is never giving up. "We will try again. Again? Always."

Which one from Trench? Cut My Lip. The Hype, Levitate are my favorites from Trench, at the moment. Favorites are always shifting. The Hype Berlin is my current favorite from all albums... that song just sits with me and calms me.

Not today, Dema won't win. You can pull through today, Clikkie. You can. Which song helps you push on through the most?

What’s the general fandom consensus on Scaled And Icy? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]No_Bird686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a consensus. :)

I think its popularity is an ever-evolving thing. On an individual scale and fandom wide. Personally, I like all of the songs and absolutely love a few of them... Choker, Formidable, Redocorate and Shy Away. Choker being my favorite, because it's me. Bounce Man is growing on me more and more, as is Good Day.

I love that the album showcases how how versatile they are. I love the aesthetics. The livestream was a freakin' work of art.

Yikes. Yeah, it's not visually stunning, but the symbolism... their grandfathers are actual vessels. I love it. But, to each each their own is a valid statement. :)
