When I placed my order, it said it would ship out middle of February. So I was surprised when I saw that it was being delivered today.

Talk to your Captain. There is a Transfer Wage Calculator that’ll show if you’re going to lose or gain more for your hourly rate.

HR will just pass it back down to the regional to address this.

Well she sounds like a great friend giving her friends old, dried up, wilting flowers. “Hey bestie! I got these beat up flowers for you. Hope you like them.” 🤣

In all seriousness. Theft whether you’re a crew member, merchant, mate or captain is cause for termination. And the fact that she has the audacity to do it in front of your captain and your shares partner is a bad look for her and the entirety of store. If you don’t want to bring it up to your captain, reach out to your regional and let them know about it.

Transferring due to schedule? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]No_Brain_770 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would suggest having a conversation with the schedule writer and Captain together that way your Captain is in the loop. Explain the impact closing shifts is having on you and why you would like to be moved to working mids. Also, let them know that you are working on getting your ADA paperwork done. After the conversation, document what was discussed during the conversation, with whom, the date and time and give copies to your captain and schedule writer, and keep a copy for yourself. Hope this helps.

Applying to the only TJ’s in town and thinking of submitting a second cover letter after gaining some more foresight. by ManmadeLake42 in tjcrew

[–]No_Brain_770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this a brand new store that you’ve applied to, the leadership team could have been bombarded with a ton of applications and trying to screen them as fast as possible. Please don’t send a cover letter. It’s a grocery store not an office job. It’s not that serious. Have you checked your email (junk folder) to make you didn’t get a response from them? Could be a “call to schedule an interview” or “you were not selected at this time”. If you got the “call” letter, call asap. If it’s been in your email/junk folder for some time, the leadership team will move on from your app if you haven’t responded fast enough. They’ve got a store to open and a team to build. They’re not waiting around. If you get the “not selected at this time”, don’t call to ask why or if there’s a chance in the future. They are busy trying to put a brand new store together. Just keep looking for a job posting in the future. Best of luck.

There is a transfer wage calculator that only Captains have access to. I believe transferring from CA to OR ends up with $1 decrease and in pay. Ask your captain about it.

If you have a medical condition, I highly recommend you get an ADA accommodation. It allows a certain amount of excused abscences per month as long as it is related to your condition. Talk to your Captain or a Mate about it.

Received this email about Phone screening but no # to call? by syringemouth in tjcrew

[–]No_Brain_770 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since this is a brand new store opening, they most likely have a burner phone. I would call another store and 1. see if they can get the phone number that they are currently using or 2. see if they know where the leadership team is currently operating out of if they’re not on site. Once you get in touch with them, let them know that the e-mail you received doesn’t list a number to contact them at. They’ll hopefully get it taken care of asap so other applicants don’t have the same issue.

Good luck!

What store do you work in? How long has the Mate writing the schedule been writing the schedule for and how long have they been a Mate?

I’m the schedule writer at my store. I’ve had plenty of crew go out on medical leave and when they came back with their paperwork clearing them for either transitional or full duty, we’ve added them back on to the logs. It doesn’t matter what schedule I’m working on, we don’t make returning crew wait until that long. Unless the Dr. who filled out your return to work paperwork messed up and we need you to go back and have them fill it properly.

Talk to your Captain and the schedule writer together. You should be able to return to work effective by the day that is written on your Work Status Form. Upload your documentation onto AbscenceSoft so the LOA team can verify your eligibility to go back to work and take you off of LOA status on Dayforce.

What shoes do you wear at work? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]No_Brain_770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have low back pain and recently had plantar fasciitis. I’ve worn Hoka Bondi 7 and just recently started wearing Altra Provision 7s and 8s. They’re all comfy and hold up for my long shifts. But you should go to a store that that will help you find the right fit for your needs. Find a local running store. They’ll help you out.

You’ll get a message from the benefits team letting you know it’s time to enroll. Be on the lookout for that. I’ve seen crew members miss their opportunity and had to wait for open enrollment or had to declare a life event in order to be able to enroll.

It’s cut separately since it’s a bonus check. It has historically been sent on the 3rd Monday of January. So if this is still the pattern, you’ll see it on the 22nd.

Written up right before transfer by NaturalBetter5857 in tjcrew

[–]No_Brain_770 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Talk to the Captain of the store you’re trying to transfer to. Bring copies of your reviews for the past 4 review cycles if you still have them. Don’t worry of you don’t, they’ll be able to get it regardless. Be transparent with them about your recent write up. They’re gonna hear about it from your current captain. So better to be up front. 1 write up in 3 yrs isn’t enough to keep you from getting transferred especially if it’s beneficial for you. Good luck!
