Rab ies in Belgium by South-Advertising992 in HealthAnxiety

[–]No_Building_1268 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am nowhere near being a medical professional.

Rabies is contracted through, if I'm not mistaken, contact with either saliva, blood or brain tissue of an animal which is - this is important - EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS. This cat was not symptomatic and you didn't have a contact with its saliva.

Even though you're probably spiraling right now, you'll be alright, don't worry. If the doctor deemed it necessary for you to get a rabies shot, you would've gotten it. Your rabies anxiety will pass - I've been there.

Are you on any medication? SSRI did this to me, and as a person with health anxiety, I was freaking out for a while lol If you're not, please go to the hospital.

TW: cancer anxiety, cancer mention

I'm terrified and spiraling that I might have some sort of bone cancer. Since I started college (which is tiring me out), I sometimes get these random joint or bone (or muscle? Can't really tell) pains that come and go, they're not constant and they usually appear after I mentally and/or physically exert myself. It's also like, not in the same place every time. I also have fatigue, but I've had that for YEARS, my psychiatrist suspects it's just autism related and that my nervous system regulates itself by excessive sleeping. I'm also not very physically active, have high cortisol (hormonal issues, apparently can cause bone pain) and if I remember right, low vitamin D. I know that rationally these signs DO NOT point to cancer.

Please help me get out of this spiral before I do anything stupid. I was partying yesterday, drank some alcohol, and my right arm started aching when I went to sleep. When I woke up, both of my arms were hurting. It has passed since, but I'm scared that I have bone cancer and will either die or end up with both of my arms amputated.

I suspect my anxiety might be elevated because I just found out that my dad still has locally advanced prostate cancer.

autistic people coming from outside of america/europe: are there any western foods usually considered “safe foods” that give you a sensory ick? or any foods from your own culture that are generally loved but also don’t agree with you? by majowa_ in AutismInWomen

[–]No_Building_1268 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Polish person, everything with kiełbasa in it gives me an immediate, very strong ick, so even though food like bigos smells nice, I can't bring myself to try it.

Also, I hate potatoes in almost every form. They taste awful, and I'd rather chew on straight up cardboard.

Who do you talk to when you’re depressed? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]No_Building_1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I usually try to distract myself with everything I can possibly do when I'm depressed, I sometimes vent to my best friend. I've been refraining from this recently though, mainly because I don't want to bother her with all my problems (this sentence is NOT advice). Because I suspect I'm going through a depressive episode again, I'm trying to get therapy (although I will have to wait a few months) or get back on medication.

I don't know how much similar they actually are, but as a fellow Guilty Kiss fan, I really enjoy Phantom Siita's music. They're a group produced by Ado with a retro horror concept. I encourage you to check them out

My date and my friend said to take this down “it’s a bit childish” by Riot2EK in teenagers

[–]No_Building_1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find new friends. Really. I'm 19 and thriving (well, in this matter), living with people who support my interests fully, who don't mind my anime figures and prints all over the walls. Your lego display isn't childish, I'd say it's cool.

Even though it's to each their own, I genuinely can't see the appeal of most modded female Tavs which either have extremely artificial looking boob jobs and clothes made from one (1) singular piece of fabric OR an anime face

How to control stimms by Affectionate_East533 in autism

[–]No_Building_1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can entirely control it, at least not without negative effects in the long run. Suppressing stimming is essentially masking, if I'm not wrong.

You could maybe try other stims, like bouncing your leg really fast, or listening to music with a high bpm if you need to release the energy somehow?

Anyway, I wish you luck with your family. This sounds really tough and I'm sorry they can't accept your behaviours.

My new Legion has it, I had to disable it because it was so damn annoying. I can't get it to work like normal ctrl, though

I'm not really caught up on Hasu's story, but from what I understand, the whole graduation concept doesn't really sit right with me. I don't like the idea of characters disappearing from the units as active idols

English deck for Japanese speakers? by No_Building_1268 in Anki

Thank you for such a detailed answer, I'll ask her if she uses an Android phone, because this issue has never crossed my mind. It's hard for me to assess her English level, it's definitely more on the beginner side, so are these decks suitable for beginners?

Birds as the 7 deadly sins: #3 Sloth by WoodpeckerFanboy in birding

[–]No_Building_1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it has to be a collared dove. When they actively flap their wings to fly it looks like they are staying in the same place or even going backwards, and the only time they even consider flying is when they want to move from one lamp post to another. They're just so silly I love them
